I had 2 attempts at a room. The first room assigned to me was locked from the inside because the latch closed on itself. The front desk explained to me that sometimes if housekeeping closes the door too hard, the latch closes and locks itself. The second try was the room across from it. The first light by the door flickered on after about 3 seconds, which wasn't a good sign. One of the beds looked like it had stains on it. Much of the room is in need of a renovation with worn out furnishings and some repairs to the wall that were not well concealed. Also, it becomes a noise problem when I can see into the hallway below the door.

Was here on business and my company needed a conference room to see clients. Not only were the staff accommodating but also super friendly given the circumstances. They had just a had hurricane in the surrounding area, but that didn't stop the staff from delivering excellent customer service.

Not recommended for children. People were smoking weed right outside our door when we arrived with an infant and three year old. I asked to have the room switched and was told there were no other rooms. I asked for another solution and she said security could come by. No one came and people were smoking on and off throughout the night and morning.

Hotel for business. Excellent gym and swimming pool. Average service. One flaw was that I had to wait 2 hours for the room due to delays in cleaning. But I think it was a coincidence. I will return if I work in the area too.

I typically don’t write bad reviews, but this was the worst experience I have had at a hotel in my entire life, and I travel a lot. We booked and prepaid for a room through our capital one travel card, like we often do, several weeks ago. When we got to the hotel after driving 4 hours with a sleeping 3 year old in the car, I went to check in and was told they had overbooked the hotel and because we were checking in late they had no rooms left for us. I was given zero help or solutions aside from being given a managers number and extension to call in the morning. I didn’t even get my card refunded, I was just given more excuses about how I needed to reach out to capital one to have them work on it. We were basically forced to sit in the parking lot at 1130 at night and try desperately to find a last minute room when everything close by was completely sold out. We had to book a place that was 35 minutes away and twice the price. Long story short, because of this hotel groups faulty booking system and complete lack of customer service, I will never be booking at an IHG property again. Not sure why I decided to steer away from Hilton this time, but I won’t make that mistake in the future.

Didn’t get a chance to enjoy this place. Drove 4 hours after having reservations only to be told they over sold the hotel and didn’t feel the need to let us know. Thank you.

I was so skeptical after all the reviews about this property. Yes, it is dated. However, it is generally clean. We only stayed one nice, but we felt safe and not grimy when we left. Beds are comfortable. The staff was soooo healthy. Location was great too. We will honestly stay here again, as a halfway point for meeting family.
Rooms: Dated but comfortable.
Safety: Never felt unsafe. There is indoor and outdoor rooms.

As a Diamond member who frequents IHG hotels, I recently stayed at this hotel. While the hotel wasn't terrible, it was evident that a refresh is needed. The room lacked easily accessible outlets by the bed (there was a power strip, but it didn't work), requiring furniture rearrangement to charge devices. The desk chair was awfully uncomfortable and more suited for a kitchen table than extended computer work. On the upside, the bed was decent, and the AC functioned well. The front desk staff were friendly and polite. The pool looked nice, but the fitness equipment appeared worn, I went to a local Planet Fitness instead. Overall, if I am back in the area, I will explore other lodging options.

This place needs updates. Some of the entrances into the building, to the pool, gym, for example would not always work. I ask the person at the front desk on the issue, she said yea some dont always work. It's not a quiet place while trying to sleep. Doors slamming throughout the night. We picked this place as we heard Tropical Helene was coming up & decided to add a couple of days as we were on vacation on our motorcycles. This place offered, a bar & order food & buffet breakfast in the morning. What a better place to stay if you get stuck for a while. We arrived on Wednesday afternoon. On Thursday, 11 a.m., the hotel lost power and never gain power after we left on Saturday at 10 am. We were in total darkness in our room (our room was inside the hotel). Without an outside window was a challenge using our cell phone flash light. The fun got old fast. Our neighbors had barking dogs (1st night) & a lady complained about anything & everything ? (2nd morning). Why do the folks who assign your rooms put folks so close to each other, especially when there were so many rooms available. Then we heard that a football team was spending the night (3rd night). I thought they would cancel as the hotel still didn't have electricity. We'll, at midnight, 2 buses unloaded the football players, coaches, etc. And they were loud. Yelling and slamming doors. And yes, they were right next to us, and all they way down the hall. For as large as this place is, one would think they would have a backup generator. I would not recommend this place.

Fantastic Hotel. All the staff are amazing. From the Manager Jackie to house keeping. You wont find better than them. House keeping is really great. Always on top of things. Their restaurant and bar is fantastic with great food and very reasonable prices. This is the Golden Gem of Hickory. Everything you need to enjoy your stay under one roof. The indoor pool is heated and very relaxing.
Rooms: House keeping is amazing. Always fresh towels waiting for me. Bed made and trash cans emptied daily. I haven't found better service away from home.
Safety: Security on the property so you never have to worry about your vehicle at night.
Food and drinks: Food is fantastic and very reasonably priced. The bar is very nice and a great place to relax and enjoy a drink.

Rude staff members, and rooms are rotting and full of mold. This isn't an exaggeration to be rude, the rooms carpet and floor are literally decaying and the paint is peeling off the walls and ceiling.
Don't be fooled by the nice looking lobby, this place is extremely sketchy once you get to your room. The doors don't work right and don't securely lock either.
The only positive is they immediately refunded the room and let us check out no questions asked, which seems to mean the staff is well aware of how dangerous this place is.
Had to stop here after a road emergency, and this hotel made an already horrible day that much worse. This is not a safe place for children, let alone anyone else who values their health.

I stayed at this location for two days and the experience was unacceptable! My air unit was not was not cold and the thermostat read 66. Maintenance and front desk staff came to my room, looked over the unit and said it was overheating. Keep it running and gave me a small personal fan for air to blow in the room. I asked to move and they told me they were booked.
Went to dinner, came back to the room and a couple of minutes later the unit blew up in my room! There was thick, black smoke coming out of the unit and filling the room.
Went down to the front desk and asked to be moved. They told me they were booked and would comp the room.
There is so much more to the horror story, but gonna stop here. BTW the sprinklers never went off in that room. This place is not safe. One of the staff said to me that they only care about making money. Staff discussed issues with putting anyone in that room earlier that day and they put me in it anyway! The front desk said the owners are Hickory Furniture Mart! It also brags that it is an IHG property. I will be following up with them as well.
