This place is MESSY. No organization of any kind. Pottery is all over the place. None of which is priced. Saw beads in random bins and didn't even know if we could make jewelry. Loved this place as a child but not the same at all.

Me and my friends went about a month ago. She told us our pieces would be ready in about a week, so we went back a little after a week, but our pieces weren't ready. She was going on vacation the next week, so we had to wait for another week to get our pottery back. Once we got to the shop, she could only find two out of the three pieces and asked us to walk around downtown hickory while she looked for it. She couldn't find the third piece by the time we got back, and didn't offer a refund. I am severely disappointed and upset. Will be going back in a week to see if she actually finds it. I will update in a week when I go back.Edit: She did find my piece. She said it got mixed up with a summer camp? I don't understand how that happened. I'm glad it's all over, but I'm not going to be going back. it wasn't worth my time, money, and frustration. The wait time is supposed to be 7-10 days, but I ended up waiting 35 days.

I used to come here when I was younger when the mother and daughter owned it, and loved it. I have many pieces I painted throughout my house and have imprints of my hand and foot when I was a baby. This is no longer that shop. Now that it has changed hands it is completely unorganized, there is not a big selection of pottery or paints, and when you find a paint that may work she has to find the paint for you, scraping the bottom of several different bottles to get the paint. The painting experience itself was nice, but only because I was with my friends. We did it all under one name, so it should all be together when we came to pick it up in 2 weeks. However, when we came back, it would be “done in a week”. I went on vacation that week, and when I came back it was still not done. Then she goes on vacation for a week. After a month I finally see my pottery which is badly glazed to the point it is ruined. She can not even find one of my friends pieces, then she claimed she would call her back and took her number, but after reading reviews I doubt she will be seeing her piece again. I will be asking for a refund when I see my piece that was ruined again, I will update. If you want to paint pottery go to Patches Playhouse in Denver NC, not here. Save your time and money.Summary: place was completely disorganized and unlike how it was in years prior. Took a month to get 2 out of 3 pieces and the last one is missing. Mine had a messed up glazing job, will update on how it looks and if last piece is found. Go to Patches Playhouse instead.

A great way to spend a rainy day! The owner is helpful and actively helps. It was hard to get in contact with them to see if our projects were ready though.

Took my fiance and mother in law to paint pottery. The lady there was completely unorganized, but we decided to give it a chance. It was nice to sit and paint but to get paint I had to ask her what color was what. If I couldn't find a paint she would suggest another and if the bottles were empty she would get all the empty bottles and scrape them. By the time I got any paint I just wanted the experience to end but I had already started. We give her our pieces and she tells us that she will be giving us up a call in 2-3 weeks and our pieces should be done by then. 3 weeks go by nothing. One month and I ask my mother in law to check and the lady gives her pieces that aren't even ours. My Mother in law tells her this isn't ours and we have to show her pictures of our pottery for her to finally find it. She tells her I'll have it ready by Saturday because we kilned the wrong ones. Saturday comes by and she tells her oh I didn't get it done come on Monday. My mother in law asked her are you sure about Monday? She says yes and my In-law states ok Monday at 1? The lady then repeats yes Monday at 1. My mother in law went and the store is closed. At this point we just want our money back or even partial. I'm never getting my pieces and I'm tired of my mother in law wasting her gas for a business that obviously doesn't care.Edit: My mother in law went again. Got pottery, however one of the pottery pieces weren't even ours and when we told her she simply asked if we wanted another like she was just trading it. One of the pieces we painted wasn't glossed right so it felt that some of it still had the pre-kilned texture. My mother in law asked again for a refund and the lady gave it to her.

Like another reviewer mentioned, the shop was completely unorganized with barely any inventory of colors or pottery. Katie gave me a date that my pieces would be ready by, but when the time came she claimed that the kiln had broken and she had tried to contact me. She never called me about my pottery once during this entire ordeal. I had to initiate every conversation. Either way, after trying to pick up my pottery for 3 weeks and Katie eventually just ignoring us, I was able to get a refund from my bank. I’m sure my pieces that I never received are long gone. Steer clear of this business. There’s a place in Denver that is much more professional and worth your time.

This place is very unorganized. Almost none of the paints have samples so you know what color they are after being fired. Two separate people came in when I was there to ask if there pottery was done yet and she couldn't find their pottery. Our pottery was supposed to be done in 7-10 days and it's been 19 days. Supposedly, it was just placed in the kiln and will be done soon. I was recommend driving to the pottery place in Denver over this place.

Very disorganized! I dropped off a simple bracelet to be fixed - beads added and restrung - in the beginning of October. I was told it would be ready in a few days, but since I was going out of town, I did not need to pick it up for a week. Upon my return, I went in to pick up the bracelet. The owner was somewhat confused and said that she did not have it at the shop, as she worked on repairs at her home. She thought it might be in her car, but it was not. I have been back four times since and the bracelet is still not finished. Now I'm being told that I am number 5 on her list! I was never given a phone call to say that the repair was delayed, as I was led to believe it would be ready "the next day" after every visit to the shop. At this point, I'm not sure if I will ever receive the bracelet back. I will think twice about taking items there in the future.

I was very disappointed in the small selection of ceramics. Nothing was organized. It seemed dirty. Didn't enjoy trying to find things I needed.I will not go back until things are cleaned up.
