I really enjoyed the Acme Antique Market! What a great place!Candace and her son are very welcoming and engaging. Candace is very knowledgeable and helpful. My husband and I love to go "picking" and this is a great place! They have a wonderful assortment of items, some things I have not seen elsewhere. Loved the vintage holiday area. I can't wait to explore Candace's shop again. Candace, with much respect and gratitude, thank you for your service.

Candace and her staff are amazing! If you are looking for an amazing assortment of history you have come to the right place. They are very well versed at research and are very fair on price. If you are in the area please stop in and see Candace and her staff.

So much to see! The store has SO MANY items that it is easy to spend an hour just browsing. The owner is super friendly and gives you an overview of how things are organized from vintage telephones to the hall of holidays. Looking for a typewriter? clock? luggage? Whatever you are hoping to find it is worth a look here at ACME. I like that each visitor is given hand sanitizer (great lavender scent) upon entering, although that seems to bother some? What is wrong with clean hands? Anyway, love the store!

Multiple items I wanted, but because of the experience with employee (Woman) at the door claiming to be a “veteran with southern hospitality” telling us we have to have our hands sprayed with an unlabeled bottle Then constantly coming back to get more information as to what were were there for. What we are looking for? I told her I’m there to look around more than once. We will not be going back! She is forceful telling my boyfriend and I we must not be from here because we didn’t want to talk, we wanted to look… I left before I was even able to look more than a few isles. This was the worst experience I’ve ever very had in an over priced thrift shop. I do my research on items I’m interested in. I don’t need to share my interests. My boyfriend is a veteran and doesn’t treat people like she does. As long as she is there I’m sure your sales will be near to none. Pro tip: let people look around in peace and don’t be rude to people that don’t want to engage in your useless speech.Message To the owner: there are multiple reviews about this same woman. You need to find better. As I have found in other NEGATIVE reviews you made them all out to be the bad guys, well honey. It’s time for you to take responsibility and realize it is you that is the problem. You give veterans a bad name.

Acme Antique Market is one of my favorite places to visit. I am always greeted warmly by Candice, the owner, or by one of her friendly staff members. The items are grouped by type, so if you are looking for something in particular it's very easy to browse the section you are interested in. The selection is good, and the prices are reasonable. I'm very pleased that downtown Hickory has this gem of a store!

My husband and I stopped here looking for a fire station piece for our Christmas village and we were excited to finally find one at a decent price. The lady working even gave us a discount because she noticed my husband is a firefighter. The store was much larger than I expected! Both people working on Sunday, November 19th were very nice and we enjoyed our conversations with them. The lady that rang us up took great care in making sure our purchase was wrapped properly and took down our information in case anymore pieces we are looking for come in. We will definitely be shopping here again and recommending it to people we know.

I had a wonderful experience at this unique Antique shop. Candice an extraordinary manager welcome at the door and arrange for me to have a personal tour guide name Ansley who educated me on several unique gifts. I think everyone should come to this antique shop and experience the joy of exploring antiques and buy some special gifts for friends and family.

The customer service is wonderful! Miss Candice is always so nice and engaging. I come here very often just to walk around, I enjoy the aesthetic and vibe of the store, it feels very safe and comfortable. None of the employees are ever prejudice or disrespectful, it’s a very welcoming space. The store is also very clean and well organized, pleasing to the eye, and every time I come back there is always something new. Hands down my favorite place to be.

This shop has a good selection of a lot of different things. Everything is well displayed, clean and priced! The owner and two employees were wonderful. We were even given a spritz of hand sanitation when entering which I certainly appreciated along with information on the shop. Very well done! The owner Candace gave me a wealth of information on where to go for the antiques I am looking for. She even marked a map on where to look since we are relatively new to NC antiquing. She went above and beyond.

Stopped in to shop both Saturday and Sunday this weekend and both times left with absolutely nothing in hand. Not a customer-friendly shopping experience at all. Very confrontational, argumentative and aggressive right from the moment we entered the store. Numerous items with no prices and a very unprofessional sales staff.

Had a bad experience at this antique store. First of all, I am handicapped, and it’s not handicap accessible, but I was able to make it down the stairs. Once I entered, the lady asked me to sanitize my hands. She did not do this in a nice way, and more of a demanding way. I sanitize my hands, no problem there.I attempted to enter the store, and the lady jumped in front of me and started waving, her hands blocking my entrance. This really freaked me out. She was in my personal space and I was uncomfortable and scared.I waved my hands in front of her face just like she did to me and said “I don’t want to hear your speech I just want to enter” she said something like “you can’t wave your hands in front of a woman’s face!” Odd, since I was doing the same thing to her as she did to meIt is illegal in any state to block a persons entrance to the store. She then called me rude and said I am not allowed to enter the store. WOW. As a senior citizen I am shocked by this behavior. You should not need to listen to a lecture to view antiquesNo handicap entrance or exit. From what I saw prices are too high. They responded with untruths. The two very young ladies were on a power trip when I came to look for a special item. I don't know what their problem was but it was unfortunate and I feel sorry for the lack of customer service and the authoritarian style in which they operated.

Had a recent visit and I was amazed how clean and organized this store was- the best layout I've ever seen! No clutter because it's all organized by similar type instead of a mish-mash of everything thrown together. Much easier to find what you want. Friendly staff, and the owner Candace wrapped my purchases with such care! I found some really nice goodies there so this will not be my last visit.
