My experience with ABF Hickory was exceptionally GREAT!The final miles for a machine I ordered was handled by ABF Hickory. Because of the size and weight of the crate, and moreover, the destination was located in remote area deep in Great Smoky Mountains, I was really concerned about how they handled the "final miles". Called the company before delivery, I was clearly informed about the delivery date and time window, and how I should prepare my side for a smooth transferring.On the delivery date, the driver Dwayne called me confirming the delivery window in the early morning. Since I also ordered a forklift for handling the large and heavy load, I told Dwayne that the forklift may not come until a later time. Dwayne assured me that he would be happy to coordinate with this situation. The forklift I ordered arrived earlier than expected, I called Dwayne again about this change. Dwayne told me he would make a quick change, without any hesitation. As promised, Dwayne arrived at the site, exactly as he promised.During and after the unloading, Dwayne expressed such careful and professional ways, which really impressed me!In general, ABF Hickory, couple people I talked at this company, and particularly Dwayne, made me to feel that I have this obligation to express my appreciation for their excellent services. Especially, I would like say: Thanks so much, Dwayne!

Completely shock at the audacity of this company for their employees (drivers) and customers. Scheduled for a delivery on Thursday on Tuesday of the same week, took the day off work - window delivery time for 3 pallets of equipment between 9 and 5.. the entire delivery window passes as well as 5, 6, and almost 7 PM…the driver calls at 7:45 to say he would be here at 8… figured it’s still a little daylight at least I could get my stuff and not have to deal with it tomorrow… 8:20 no truck still. Pitch black, busy main road and a school/work night. No thank you, called the driver back and told them do not come, he seemed unbothered by it which tells me he wasn’t near anyways OR this happens all the time. No apology or simple explanation as to why they were going to be 3 hours later after an already 8 hour window.

I ordered a kayak and found out about this so called shipping company. My shipment was scheduled to be at the Hickory Location on a Friday. They called me on Wednesday and scheduled my delivery for the following Monday. I called Monday at 3:00PM and they tell me that they couldn't get a hold of me to schedule the delivery. After looking at their notes, he comes back an says, that he misread his notes and will deliver on Tuesday, after lunch. No apologies, not even a my bad. It is now 2:30 PM Tuesday, still not here. Hickory is about a 10 minute drive to Newton. What a joke of a company!!!!

They called me Wednesday to tell me my 330 pound tractor cab would be delivered Thursday, the next day. I took off of work, so I could show the driver where to unload this heavy piece, and start unpacking it. They called back on Thursday, asking if they could get a semi in at my address - I said "yes", just like I told them the day before. He then said that it would probably be a big truck without a liftgate that was coming up to my town of Boone, NC, and they wouldn't be able to unload it. He then stated that they probably wouldn't make it back up to Boone until next Tuesday, maybe. This company has no consideration or respect for their customers scheduling their lives to suit this companies deliveries. I will definitely let Curtiss Cabs know of the poor customer service of their delivery company...
