This bank wouldn’t honor a check written by one of its customers to my business. I had plenty of proof that I owned the business and had interaction with their customer. This is just a sad hick bank not worth your time. I will no longer honor checks from them for my customers.

I closed my checking and savings account and it was the best decision I made to go with another bank . The inconvenience was worth it . I would never recommend this bank or any branch of this bank to anyone for any reason. I recommend using Fifth Third Bank .

I have banked with United Community Bank for a couple of years now. I just recently moved to the Asheville area, and this is the branch that is closest to where I live. I’ve been here a couple of times before today, and never had an issue, but I’ve always dealt with the same young girl. Today, I dealt with who I believe to be named Johanna. I was simply trying to deposit some cash into my roommates account as a favor to him.When I arrived in the lobby, I could see that she was sitting at the counter, but it took her a couple of minutes to finally tell me that she could help me. Not sure what she was doing, but it didn’t seem like anything. Then when I got up to her, she asked how she could help me. I told her that I had some cash that I would like to deposit into my roommates account. She then looked at me weirdly for a second and then asked “So, am I supposed to just pull his name out of thin air or something?“I was taken aback, as she hadn’t even given me the opportunity to tell her his name. She then gave a nervous chuckle, as I’m sure she could tell from my reaction I did not find her funny or charming in any way. After I finished with her, I immediately called her supervisor (who didn’t answer so I left a voicemail), and I hope that she will hear about how inappropriate I found this interaction.It’s interactions like this that make people choose to switch banks, which I honestly might do at this point. Why do the older generations feel the need to treat friendly, young customers like this? Do better.

I cannot emphasize enough how professional and efficient Gwenn and her entire team is at UCBI (Amanda and Jessica as well).We worked with them on a construction loan and the process was seamless from start to finish no matter who we communicated with. Gwenn took the initial call and clearly is an expert in this industry. She knew all of the available loan products like the back of her hand, and had an answer for every question I had and was able to explain everything up front.If you are considering buying, building, or refinancing, definitely give Gwenn and UCBI a call first before anyone else.

They are what banking should be. The best of class be it Commercial Bank or Credit Union. Extremely helpful, setting up an account was simple and straightforward. I wish them all the best and look forward a long relationship with them

Inquired about a construction loan with this bank because they were a preferred lender with our home builders. Worked with Gwenn and communicated through emails and phone calls due to Covid. Initially things went well and were in process of getting a pre-approval. It was getting close for me to make a decision with which lender to go with, and I was trying to contact Gwenn on the status of the documents on my loan before I made my decision. After a couple of weeks of no updates and unanswered emails and phone calls, I decided to go with another lender, which actually worked out real well. Disappointed in the lack of communication with Gwenn. I would have at least preferred some feedback, even if it was a denial, rather than me wasting my time waiting for a response.

I needed a notary, and Robin took care of me. I don't use that bank but she notarized five forms, and didn't even charge me! I'm from San Diego where you get charged for everything. I'm very happy with the service I received. And thank you Robin!

The customer service is not good. There are some there who always seem angry. Going there as a vendor I have yet to be treated with respect. So I can't imagine me putting my money there.
