Always buy our apples here for many years. They allow us to mix two varieties when we buy a bushel. Good friendly people to help make decisions if needed. Bring cash, no cards. Love the sweet Mutsu and Fugi

I have bought apples @ Nix’s for many years. In the past we have always dealt with a young lady that has been very niece & cooperative but this year there was an older blonde haired woman who was, Down Right Nasty with us. We had called ahead & was told we could mix apples of same price in a bushel box. Drove all the way from VA to purchase several bushels of apples. When we got to Nix’s, this blonde informed us in a very unfriendly manner that we could not do this. This woman made what was normally a pleasant experience Very Unpleasant! We will not be back @ Nix’s!

As the apple season peaks in the area, it seems most of these apple market are gearing up for the crowds - with so many choices the locals all seem to have their favorites and visitors like me well we find the best of the best by happenstance. Although this market place offers a variety of different products this time of the year it's all about apples. The sorting is underway so many types and sizes, I'm definitely not an expert so I rely on those that know the distinct characteristics because I couldn't tell the difference between a great baking apple and the ones that are meant to get fresh from the tree and immediately eaten. This is a big place complete with apple sorting capabilities and staffed by experts in the gentle handing process to ensure the fruit maintains its integrity. The front of the building is lined with unloading docks that had a few apple growers unloading their crop. It's a big business but this place still has that small town mom and pop feel, I didn't opt for an apple education but I'm sure these guys know everything you'd ever want to know about apples the staff was very friendly and accommodating - I purchased a giant fresh picked tomato for my much anticipated BLT, so deliciously ripe, juicy, mouthwatering and spot free. This is a place you'll want to visit...

Great help picking out apples. Picked up some new varieties and a jar of apple butter. We only hate that they only have fried apple pies on the weekends!! Maybe next time...
