I read the reviews and decided to take a look for myself. They have some really nice pieces in there, and all furniture was 40% off on the weekend I went. But even with that discount, furniture was overpriced for a thrift store. One reviewer had said it was antique store prices…..they are right. There was a white “leather” (likely vinyl) sofa for $900. If I’m going to spend that much for a sofa, I’ll spend a bit more and buy a brand new one not a used one. I saw several pieces I could have used, but prices were out of line. I realize money from sales go to a worthy cause, but they would make money quicker with more reasonable pricing.

The furniture store is definitely overpriced! Me and my daughter went in to look for a few things and omgoodness... $900 for a used broken down couch! $280 for a out door single chair. It is beyond packed in the store with no shoppers. This place needs someone that can price to sale. We walked out both store didnt buy ANYTHING

Wow I don’t know who is pricing these items but they must not know that they got them for free. $200 for a tiny wobbly side table? Really?

The pricing here is absurd. For example, I found a used Costco brand frying pan for 34 dollars, a used flour sifter for 22 dollars, and several Big Lots store brand fake succulent arrangements for up to 14 dollars (more than the new price at Big Lots!). I overheard another group in the store who were also suffering from sticker shock.
The staff was lovely and I would consider returning if they worked on their pricing. For now, I’ll stick to the Restore in Brevard, where a used coffee mug doesn’t cost 6 bucks.

Absolutely ridiculous pricing, some over what you would pay at full retail price. I know thrift store prices have went up over the past couple of years, but this far exceeds anything in this area, including other re-stores.

Wow the prices are ridiculously high for all items. Management needs to wake up. Terrible experience.

They have allot of inventory that is way over priced for used furniture… I don’t understand how they make any money with the way they price things . If they would drop there prices by 35 to 45 percent the still would have a hard time selling items

I find the nasty reviews quite disturbing and shake on the keyboard warrior who tries to mar the reputation of this and other nonprofits in Hendersonville who work so hard to help deserving families. I did not need the nasty reviews but decided to call The Habitat Restore and spoke with the kindest, most caring employees. I'll be sending items they can use to make as much money as they can for a great cause. Please give this store a chance and don't let those disgruntled folks in other reviews cloud your thinking. We moved to Hendersonville several months ago and everyone is so nice.

Pricing is a joke

The original construction materials sales building is okay. But at the housewares building, expect to wait a looong time to buy used goods at full retail prices.

Leaving one star because it won't allow a zero star. Don't waste your time coming here. The home improvement side isn't too bad (other than things marked as "vintage" that clearly are not) but the furniture building is ridiculously overpriced. If you look back a few reviews you'll see a photo (from two weeks ago) of a tent out in the parking lot...its still there. There was furniture piled in and around it with no real protection from the weather (and its POURING rain today). Even the items "on sale" are still overpriced at the sale prices. The entire store needs to be cleared out at 75% or more to make it shoppable. There is so much piled in there it isn't CLOSE to being ADA compliant. If you look around a little you can see the problem...people looking up things online for prices. Give me a break....it's a RESALE store and they got all this for FREE but they're putting RETAIL prices on everything which explains why they have so much stuff. They need new management that will stop trying to run it as an "upscale boutique" and get back to reality. By the way, when we were there, the place REEKED of a strong chemical smell (sort of like Clorox and bathroom cleaner) probably from having to clean the stuff left out in the weather. It was so bad we had to leave because our eyes were burning. Unless you're looking for the possibility of moldy furniture, I probably wouldn't shop there. Ridiculous.

Overpriced. Someone should introduce the management to the idea of 'moving merchandise'. Overcrowded with items that have been there for months. Used to be a good place to shop and donate to but not anymore.

This place under all previous management used to ROCK, the current ocerall manager of both this and the Landrum SC Store needs to take a page out of the book of the manager at the lighting and cabinetry building and learn how to price things reasonably so that things SELL!!! At the Hendersonville store, they have actually had to knock down walls, and bring in rolling racks to accommodate all the stuff that they have overpriced, and have therefore been unable to sell… I even have a permanent tent outside in the parking lot with completely overpriced furniture that still doesn’t sell at 60% off!!If the board had any concern about how these stores were being mismanaged, they would surely remove the manager from her position and put somebody in place that actually knows how to run a shop, there are plenty of people out there who would surely do a better job, the board just has to show a bit of interest and if they are not too old and infirm, try to remember how spacious and roomy the stores were when things were not so hideouly overpriced…
