“I'm not from here and needed major help. I got my car repaired and they told me I needed a new donut. Nelson went above and beyond. I was running all over town trying to find a spare tire. He looked up one to order but no luck. The internet crashed and he went to the office to continue his search with still no luck. He came out to look at the actual tire, did an inspection to see my tire was actually just fine! I needed to write a review because he was so kind when I was a nervous wreck over something that was not even an issue. “Over the Top ServiceOn September 29, 2023 my wife & I were traveling to Hilton Head, SC for a family wedding the following day. Just south of Asheville I received a warning message on my Cadillac Xt5 indicating that my “steering assist was reduced drive carefully”. I had received this message before. Not knowing exactly what it meant I googled it and found out that in most cases it meant an open thermostat problem that is common with that engine and that it should be covered under my powertrain warranty. I had taken my vehicle into a dealer by my home in Michigan to have the problem repaired. They told me it wasn’t a thermostat problem but rather a coolant issue that cost $1,600 to repair. Needless to say I wasn’t very happy about that but authorized the repair.Upon receiving the message a second time I was sure the problem was the thermostat. I ask my wife to contact the nearest GM dealer which happened be Boyd GMC in Hendersonville, NC. We called their service department and explained the issue to their service rep, Randy, as well as the fact that we had to be in Hilton Head that evening. He said to bring it and they would see what they could do.Randy was there to meet us when we pulled into the service bay. Using his OBD he confirmed that it was a code #P128 thermostat problem. He checked with his parts department to confirmed that they had the parts to make the repair and also confirmed that the cost of the repair was covered by my powertrain warranty. He then told us that because we had been driving for a while the engine was hot and it had to cool before they could work on it and it may take approximately 4 hrs to make the repair. Of course I authorized the repair. My wife and I settled in for the wait.Approximately 2 hours later Randy came into the waiting area to tell us that our vehicle was ready. To say we were surprised and delighted would be an understatement. Randy explained that knowing our circumstances they put a fan on the engine to help cool the engine faster and assigned one of their best mechanics to do the work. We really couldn’t believe it. We were so fortunate to have gone to Boyd GMC. We arrive in Hilton Head at 5PM in time to have dinner with our friends and family.We want to acknowledged Randy and the Boyd service team for a job well done. They went over and above for us and we truly appreciated it. Thank you so much.Best regards,Harold & Kathy McDonald”

“I found some rare interior parts that I needed to restore my 1987 Jeep Comanche at this salvage yard, which happened to have an '87 like mine. Because of COVID, it took a couple of months for me to make the trip from Alabama, but it was well worth the seven-hour drive. The owner was very considerate of my commute, and when I finally made it up, he even remembered me inquiring about the truck on the phone from two months earlier. He was also true to the prices he quoted me on the phone. His staff was friendly and took pride in their work. I don't understand the negative comments about this business.
