My daughter ordered her books online for the Fall 2023 semester. The books were supposed to be in within a few days. After a week of not receiving notification that the books were ready for pickup, she went into the store to check on her order as the books were for several classes. She was in there almost 45 minutes before anyone bothered to help her despite store employees having helped other students who were there after her. My daughter got her laptop out to get the order number, the employee that was helping her glanced at the "Have a gay day!" Rainbow sticker on the coover & told her another employee eould have to call her when they returned from somewhere. Didn't bother looking in the computer or provide any explanation as to what was going on with the order. This was for 3 (three) different classes & more than a week after classes had started. My daughter was crying when she came out to the car. I told her that we'd go in & ask for a manager for clarification as to what was going on. Truth be told, I was already looking up the complaint process. When staff completely ignores you for almost 45 minutes & offers no explanation there is usually a reason. We've already experienced discrimination due to her being gay when the paper refused to run her school's top graduating students in which she was top 5 bc she had a suit on in her senior picture. Maybe it was the employee seeing the NC Community College complaint site on my phone. I don't know. All I do know is that the books for all 3 of her classes magically appeared. A complaint to Student Services resulted in their typical excuses & absolute lack of accountability by stating that was a Follett issue as they manage the bookstore but yet the property the bookstore is ran out of is owned by ACC & accepts federal funds which means they are held to the same expectations as the school. It seems very disappointing that the bookstore is not only allowed to discriminate but the school itself had employees that went in & altered all 3 of my children's records, another employee sent out my child's information to 1 of the wrong addresses which happened to be owned by someone's with the same last name as she (the ACC employee) as well as knowingly mailing out all 3 student's pell checks to the incorrect address entered by staff. They stated that 1 student's address was incorrect when he applied & that they get their information from CFNC. However, all documents show the correct address for all 3. The initial letter mailed out providing ACCess mail set up etc was allegedly returned to ACC before school started but there was no contact regarding this, ACC failed to provide any documentation to this effect, & went on to mail a financial aid check that had parts of addresses from 3 (theee) different locations & deemed undeliverable by the USPS for the 2nd time. The Student Services director also failed to mention that there's only 5 days to file a formal complaint if resolution is not reached with the 1st informal complaint. AC staff also attempted to force us to take the check with the wrong address by saying, "We were choosing to not take the check" but we didn't choose for their staff to maliciously & eithout cause to enter all 3 student's records, alter their information, & then kick 1 student out for fun to which the girls in the registrats office answered "That was us!", gifgled, & then stated they didn't want to initial the form showing the date & time of the corrected schedule bc they "didn't want to end up in court."

I was at Alamance Community College in the career college program. For four years, two years for the healthcare assistant certificate and two years for the animal care assistant certificate. I graduated in 2023. The career college program is for students with special needs. The program is really good but some of the staff are questionable and how they handle things is also questionable. Mr. Tim is the director of the program; his heart is in the right place but how he handles conflict is not right. He is big on people staying out of other people's drama; however, he feels like it is necessary to include the whole class in a person's problems. Example: if I have another problem with student B, he brings the whole class in it. He did handle with a peer with the just the two of us, but I have a feeling that is very rare. My animal care teacher is young and new, even though she is a good teacher, she doesn't understand are special needs most of the time. She humiliated me in front of the whole class without even saying she was sorry.

Teresa is incredibly rude. I wasn’t even doing a transaction with her. The lady I was doing my financial aid transaction with was very sweet but we had a little bit of trouble putting my student id number in. She butted in and assumed I didn’t have any financial aid and I was lying or something. I definitely wouldn’t be buying anything from the bookstore if I didn’t have financial aid. I can get books literally anywhere cheaper. You’d think as much as they upcharge for everything the team lead would be nicer.

I earned an associate's degree at ACC, and am now finishing a second associate degree at ACC. So you can imagine I've had many years of dealing with the book store. Throughout that time I have been shocked at how bad the service is. Books are almost never in stock, the hours are abysmal, and the books take longer to arrive than the staff will tell you. Speaking of the staff, very hit or miss. Some of them are extremely pleasant and helpful, the other half are curt at best. It's a shame that an institution that has helped me out so much is marred by this poorly managed bookstore.

The head of the EMS program allows students and instructors to talk about performing oral sex on fellow students in front of the class when you question it you are told that is just EMS and as a student you are to get used to it. when you pursue the vice president of continuing education kicks you out of the program because it is the way EMS is. So in other words it is ok for students and instructors to tell yourself and each other to perform oral sex on each other in front of the whole class but if you mention it makes you as a student uncomfortable then the problem is the student that doesn't think it is appropriate.

ACC offers some amazing career building opportunities for students. Be sure to look at the Computer Aided Drafting program. It represents a field where there is a significant shortage of skilled professionals. There are many positions available for CAD graduates within a short distance of ACC. Come see me to learn more about this.

They are physically and mentally incapable of improving.. They literally make the worst decisions possible, at every turn.. Nobody does their jobs, and they don't care about the students.. they want NUMBERS passing through to get as much money as They can but once you start having problems and pressing them to give you the education you paid for, you get labeled a "troublemaker" They will delete this within 24 hours..

Staff is rude, incompetent, and lazy. Refuses to provide proper services and supplies to students, curses and yells at customers. I would recommend buying supplies from Amazon, at least it'll actually get to you on time. The management refuses to listen to instructors about supplying resources and is often out of required materials. The materials they provide are over priced and the quality is poor at best or even sometimes completely wrong. It is a sloppily ran store and is not a good environment for students or faculty. If I could give zero stars then I would.
