why is dollar tree stores in the southern states are 5 or under? on the east coast dollar tree store everything is 1.25.... not a penny more . someone please explain

I generally love shopping there this last time 4/21, some things were not out, and boxes sat in the several isles to be unpacked. I'm thinking they must be short staffed as there is a help wanted sign out.
