Always friendly and accommodating. The techs ask and offer recommendations. They always ask before cutting. Although predominantly a female clientele, it's still a great stop for men. Trims, beard trims, eyebrow maintenance are all offered from a very skilled staff. A relatively short review because our stay wasn't even a stay. I'm an IHG rewards platinum member and booked a room here for 4 nights because I had never stayed at this brand and wanted to try it. Plus the rate was better than the Staybridge Suites a few miles south. I found out why. Checked in and the front desk clerk was nice. Check in was quick and we got our key card. After a 9-hour drive, my son and I were ready to relax and unwind. Got to the room, opened the door and it was clear that a mistake had been made. As you can see by the picture the room was a mess. Unmade bed, empty beer bottles...and is that a bottle of hand lotion on the floor?!? The TV was on and all the lights were on. I almost wonder if there were still people IN the room and we just didn't see them because I was not going to step foot inside the door. Disgusting. Back downstairs and my first thought was to get another room, just an honest mistake...but then we got in the other elevator car (not the one we rode up in) and it reeked of either puke or very disgusting-smelling alcohol and it was very clear where the spot was on the carpet that was producing the horrendous odor. By the time we got downstairs I had decided we were changing hotels. I'd seen enough. To their credit, they did cancel our room with no fuss (still need to verify I wasn't charged a cancelation fee). I was so upset with IHG that we didn't even go to the Staybridge Suites and instead opted for a Marriott property further south. Turned out to be a great move.

We frequent IHG through Europe and US and our first stay at a Hotel Indigo was disappointing with the condition of our room and lay out. First the good. Lobby was nice. Room is spacious with a separate living area. Ample desk area, plenty of out lets, fridge in room. Disappointing part. Quite a bit of trash in parking lot. Fridge is in closet so can get in the way of hanging items. Bath door scraped floor and hard to close. Mildew on ceiling above shower. HVAC noisy. And personally I hate the sink outside the bathroom - bathroom small with no bath towels in it. They stored under the sink in other room. We did not use any amenities but do have a bar and room service we saw. As IHG rewards club members we will continue to stay at IHG properties but probably will not be returning to Hotel Indigo in Vernon Hills.
