Always friendly and helpful. You can tell the people that work there love our fur babies as much as we do. So glad I found this place. Both of my babies do not mind going for a visit.

I’ve had only had a few experiences with ECVC, but all of which were emergency situations. In each case, the level of compassion, urgency, & professionalism was incredible. I prefer to be told the reality of things- I want to know my options along with a brief yet educated understanding of each. Dr. Pat provided all of this. I truly felt like he was supportive in whichever decision was made & understood the heavy weight of it all.Additionally- ECVC has a dedicated staff that shares the same compassion. It’s got to be challenging to leave 1 exam room where someone just learned their dog has cancer & then walk into the next room & be cheerful & upbeat. I’m grateful for ECVC & Greenville is fortunate to have them as part of the community.

I adopted a dog from a shelter on 2/15/24 and I arranged an appointment here where on 2/28 she tested positive for hook worm. ECVS prescribed a dewormer. "drontal plus“ and not myself knowing the dog or what I and the dog might expect I looked up “drontal plus” and I found out that a follow-up test would be needed. Drontal plus kills worms and not eggs. Through a text messaging service I informed ECVS about this, and I asked what do you think? This was on 3/2/24.On 3/26, went in for boosters on a couple vaccines and I did not think to inquire from my question on 3/2. I didn’t because the message was locked in a text queue. Following 3/26, my dog went to the dog park and she engaged in basic training. Consider the potential domino effect.I vacuum the floor and dog bedding a few times a week because my dog sheds a lot. I apply diatomaceous earth to the yard. I mop my floors.I need to travel for personal family reasons on 5/24 and I plan to take my dog to a great camp. The camp received my dog’s vaccine records but they further asked for a clear fecal. This was on 5/1. I arrange for the test at ECVS.My dog tests positive (again?) for hook worm. I was asked about the dog park, does she drink the water there? Etc. Where have I been taking her? Do I pick up after her? Do I wipe her feet off. Etc.I ask is it safe to add inceptor + to the second dewormer “drontal”. It’s okay to do that. “Take them together on 5/8.”I did and I slept on it. And I woke up asking: why did they not follow-up retest in follow from my message asking about that on 3/2? Did they not understand my dog came from an animal shelter? And I wondered if I could have an apology.I asked merely this:“Maybe an apology could be provided to us? Mainly a step was missed and I am not a veterinarian.”For that I swiftly earned an email containing my dog’s vaccine and treatment records, and a reply from Dr. Patrick Godfrey that they did not intend to impair the treatment of Katy and that they hope I can find a veterinary clinic that can suit [my] needs better.I got kicked out because I asked for an apology. I see in the treatment records my text from 3/2 asking about a follow-up. I ask for an apology and I get kicked to the curb.ECVS is not a place to take a rescue dog. It’s not a place to deworm because they do not know nor respond to questions about conducting a follow-up fecal test. It’s standard (which I did not realize until finding veterinary services suitable to my dog’s needs).I thought they were great. They are in my neighborhood. Because I asked for an apology, I get kicked out of the neighborhood club. Maybe the neighborhood doesn’t rescue dogs. Maybe my neighbors don’t travel.Be careful everyone in the neighborhood where you step.

They are wonderful. My inherited dog had cancer. I decided to send her to Heaven. The entire staff hugged me and helped me to my car. They understood my pain..

This was my first visit to East Carolina Veterinary and was so impressed with everything as soon as we entered their offices. The receptionist was friendly with a great smile and then we met with the doctor and instantly realized we were with the right vet for our dogs. He took his time and listened to our fears and and we really liked his attitude on his recommendations for helping our bulldog with his health issues. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great care for their pets.

Our family enthusiastically recommends East Carolina Veterinary Service. Dr. Pat is very thorough and shows a great amount of care and compassion for his patients. He takes the time to conduct a thorough evaluation and provides clear feedback and suggestions for care. He let's you ask as many questions as you need to feel comfortable - you never feel rushed. The staff is always very friendly and treats your pet with the utmost respect.

Drs. Godfrey do not have the same special touch that Dr. Kuhn had. I thought I had a good relationship with everyone in the clinic while taking my dogs there for nearly 3 years until they passed of old age. The staff was so helpful, supportive, and caring every time I visited. When I got a new dog and took him to see "Dr. Patrick" Godfrey things went amiss. I got the impression Dr. Patrick does not like patients telling him what they will and will not do with their animals, but never mind that. The trouble was, they also microchipped the pup at my request and made a mistake in registering the microchip. This caused loads of confusion with the microchip company, Homeagain, and made me very upset. When I called about it, a staff member said I was "yelling at her" and was "rude to her." I apologized and noted that was not my intent, but I was angry. She hung up. Three days later I got a letter via registered mail from Drs. Godfrey terminating my relationship with EC Vets. The letter specifically stated "recent interactions with staff members." I was flabbergasted. What seemed like a good relationship for over 3 years turned sour when I got upset about a mistake the office made when registering my dog's microchip! There were several things that bothered me about this situation: (a) the vet never followed up with me after the phone call with the staff member regarding the microchip issue; I never heard from them and was left to sort out their mistake with Homeagain; (b) what I thought was a solid relationship with vet staff could have been just a farce; I was shocked that even the vet tech who came in on his day off to be with me when my dog passed, wouldn't say something to vets who didn't know me at all; and (c) Greenville is a relatively small town and people talk; if Drs. Godfrey do this to more patients, especially those who were Dr. Kuhn's long-time patients, word will get around. When I started looking for a new vet, I was 100% transparent about why I was looking for a new vet. I have shown the letter I received and the chain of communication between EC Vets and to 2 other vets in town and 2 vet surgeons in Raleigh. They were also shocked. In hindsight, I am glad I was terminated from EC Vets because I do not want to take my pup to a vet who is more concerned with my interaction with a staff member than they are over the health and well-being of my pup. The universe knew what it was doing because now I have a vet that is a perfect fit for me and my pup! I think EC Vets under new ownership can be a good clinic, but go with caution, remain calm, don't get upset about anything because if you do, they might "terminate" you too!

All ECVS staff and doctors are awesome! Cindy, Lisa, and Magui at the front desk are always very welcoming, friendly, and on top of whatever is needed. Corkie loves the attention showered on him from everyone. If they're not careful he'll sneak a kiss. Dr Patrick completed a thorough exam and labs 4/3/24. He took time to discuss everything in detail and answer all of my questions. (I never feel rushed in and out.)The doctors and vet techs have lovingly provided excellent care for Corkie since his 7 day stay in ICU at Blue Pearl Hospital Cary NC 2 years ago (4/3/22) with sudden onset of Autoimmune Mediated Thrombocytopenia. A huge thank you to ECVS truly caring doctors who have provided the aftercare he's needed with many many vet visits for labs, meds, unexpected side effects, coordination of care with his Blue Pearl Hospital Doctors, and lots of patience with his mom. ? He is finally in remission and on a quarterly schedule for platelets recheck.
