I purchased a car from your dealership less than two weeks ago, and within the first week, the driver side door handle stopped working. I now have to roll down the window, open the door from the outside, roll the window back up, and then turn off the car—an inconvenience that is truly unacceptable with having the car less than week on Monday when this occurred.
When I initially noticed the issue, I immediately contacted Henry, who sold me the car. After inspecting the car, Henry quickly concluded that I must have broken the door handle by pulling too hard, despite my careful handling of the vehicle. His dismissive attitude left me feeling unheard and gaslighted, especially when I repeatedly mentioned that I did not believe I caused the damage.
To ensure the issue was not my fault, I took the car to a repair shop, where they informed me that the door handle was completely worn down and that it was unlikely I could have caused the problem on my own. When I relayed this information to Henry, he disregarded it, claiming “I don’t care. They’re not us.” I feel that was incredibly dismissing and made it seem like the repair shop folks don’t know that they’re doing. He made similar remarks when I told him what Advance Auto said as well. The place he sent me to because they do a great job of assisting customers….which they did an amazing job at helping me.
At this point, it’s not about who is responsible for the damage. The real issue is that I’ve had the car for less than two weeks, and something as simple as a $20-$35 fix is being avoided. While I’ve accepted that I may need to pay for the repair, the level of customer service I’ve received from your dealership has been disappointing.
Henry has repeatedly mentioned that this is a “small fix.” If that’s the case, I believe the dealership should be willing to assist with this repair, especially since the issue arose so soon after my purchase. My experience with your dealership so far has left me frustrated and disappointed. At this point, I wish I had looked elsewhere for a car or a had a different sales man willing to actually listen to me.
