It was making a lot of noise, and time was critical because if it went out completely, the compressor would overheat and fail. The cost to purchase the same model refrigerator from Lowe’s again has inflated to about $4500.
At first, I contacted Encompass, the authorized distributor for LG parts, and ordered a new fan motor. I was told it was in stock and would arrive within 5 to 7 days, but when I got the email confirmation, it had changed to backorder status with an estimated delivery time of 10 to 12 days. Looking for an alternative, a local appliance repair company recommended D&L Appliance Parts in Greenville NC, and they have many locations with convenient after-hours pick-up options.
I canceled the backorder with Encompass, and placed my order with D&L. After their great staff looked up the correct part number based on my refrigerator model, it appears that Encompass might have shipped the wrong part with unnecessary delay.
The replacement fan motor arrived at my house via UPS three days later! I was able to get it installed that night after work, providing us whisper quiet piece of mind.

Their gaming section was.....ok. every keyboard display was missing keys and the mouse display was all messed up. And while they were stocked up for the holidays, the store was kind of a mess - looked more like a warehouse.

The appliances section seems to be taking over more than half the store - so if you need a good printer or even joystick, or want a good selection of PCs and graphics cards - go to Staples I guess? If you're looking for a nice stove or washer machine, they've got a pretty big selection of ask the fanciest I've ever seen.

The store is clean for the most part. But the best best buy I've been to, but what really makes a best buy the best best buy?
