“I recently visited to trade a couple softball gloves for larger sized gloves. Everyone was extremely helpful and really made me feel like they wanted to help me instead of trying to hurry to get me out of the store. It really goes a long way when you ask for help and the staff are happy to help instead of blowing you off and acting like they are to busy. I wish I could remember all their names but I do remember Zach because we share the same name and he searched high and low through the store to find what I was looking for. “I cannot begin to tell you how many events I attended or hosted at Starmount Forest Country Club ( affectionately known as Starmount) during my 27 year tenure at the Community Theatre of Greensboro. So many bar and bat-mitzvahs, sweet 16s, weddings, anniversaries, rotary club meetings, fundraisers for the community theater and on and on and on. I was shocked but flattered when I walked into Starmount last Sunday to attend a former Wizard of Oz cast member's baby shower, that the manager recognized me and started telling me about all his memories of the events I was part of in years gone by. So nice! I don't know that much about the club in that I am not a golfer and I was never a member so my visits were limited to attending or hosting an event. I will tell you that they have a fantastic swimming pool and pool area, and I know many families that have enjoyed that pool over the years. They also have a very popular golf course and tennis courts that their members love. I was invited many times over the years to join a member for golf, and as much as I wanted to say "yes" to the CTG supporter, I instinctively knew I would make a complete fool of myself and kindly declined! I even suck at miniature golf!!! I remember when Doris Tanger, may she rest in peace, was still alive and she invited me to dinner at Starmount because she wanted to meet her son, Steven. Little did I know at that dinner that a decade later Steven would make a lead gift to the Tanger Center that so many of us enjoy today. I was never a country club kind of guy but I can appreciate what it offers if you are wanting an outlet for your family or yourself during your off hours. I seem to remember that their meals are quite good, they used to have a buffet as well ( maybe they still do) and I always appreciated the warmth and professionalism whenever I attended something, including last Sunday. As I stood there and watched Costen celebrate the soon-to-be coming of his first baby, I remembered when he was 5 years old as a lollipop kid in The Wizard of Oz and I cannot help but wonder where did the years go? But it was a comforting feeling to know that no matter how much time goes by, The Wizard of Oz still captivates our community, and I will return again and again to Starmount Forest Country Club. This facility is a landmark in Greensboro and has served a segment of our community for decades. Conveniently accessed off Holden Road, there's plenty of parking and plenty to do and plenty to eat. I wonder if the new generations will want to be part of a country club like my generation or those before me? It holds a certain appeal to some, but for me, I'd rather get on a plane or in my car and get out of town. But, if you can afford it, there's nothing like heading to the Starmount Forest Country Club for golf, swimming, tennis and a delicious meal or a special event!”
“I was greeted and offered assistance while comparison shopping for an electric bike for my college student. The floor assistant was knowledgeable about the bikes, warranties and maintenance.”
“Cool experience but there no better than champs or footlocker when it comes to clothing I will say they have a “bigger variety of clothingand shoes” but champs in my opinion have slightly better deals by 10-20%off”
“I’m not knowledgeable at all about the latest fashion. It felt amazing to go into a store, have the shoes I called for to be waiting at the front desk, and then to have the associate Joe to give me a quick lesson on Jordans. Thank you for the great experience!”

“This place is great. The colors, styles. All fresh and new something Greensboro needed. They have a great staff. Not pushy but VERY HELPFUL! They offer fitness and boxing classes. How cool is that.”
“The associates were super friendly and nice. I ordered an item online for store pickup and they inspected the item before completing the order to let me know it was a little banged up and if I wanted to proceed and if so they’d discount it a little.
Knowing the state of ordering online and picking up in store, the fact that these associates took the time to make sure everything was suitable really was exceptional.”

“Amazing big outdoors store in Greensboro with large selection of fishing supplies. Also, camping, hunting, and apparel too. Lots of plastic baits for fishing and fly fishing section. Check-out is designed to prevent theft as I overheard in-house chatter on a staffers store phone about suspicious patrons. Since I too work in retail, I understand the issues. There's a wide selection here.”
