GREENSBORO Location Oct 2021Awful experience- first visit to NC & Harris Teeter, on vacation visiting friends. We were making charcuteries. Got excited by the different cheeses, took a photo, was instantly ambushed by two managers who blocked my cart & start interrogation. They were very aggressive & rude asking me why I took photos. I tried to explain but they cut me off saying I was spying for another store! (get over yourselves).I swear they would have demanded my phone if I hadn’t told them to get their hands off my cart & stop blocking my way. They didn’t. I abandoned the cart. I’ll not ever walk into that store again.I’ve now moved to NC & am handing over $$$$ to Publix, Lidl, Trader Joes, Whole Foods, Wegmans, Aldi, Lowe’s Food, Target - basically everyone except Harris Twitter on a daily basis.

The supply chain is slowly getting better. Shelves are slowly filling up. A lot better now. Still random shortages.

If there's a Harris Teeter in your neighborhood, then you're living in the right place.

Been coming here for years- and I must say the rudest behavior ever at this location. Don't think I have ever been treated so poorly- like a thief to just return oranges after I just dropped $102 ... not counting the thousands spent here over the past 30+ years- Front desk 5:48pm

I gave 2 stars because the food is always so fresh. Customer service is a different story. I used my wic card to purchase fruits for my kid and used ebt for the other stuff. Well they charged my wic and ebt for the same fruits. The day of, I spoke to customer service and was rudely told that they didn’t charge my wic after I told her that the receipt showed it did. So I waited 2 days to check my wic app and it showed that it did charge. I went back to the store to let them know and Ryan (supervisor) dismissed their own receipts along with the receipt that I had from wic as if he didn’t care. He told me that was a problem I needed to discuss with Wic. Both Ryan and his coworker (a tan skinned man with curly hair, supervisor I assume) laughed at me as I was leaving like I was beneath them and just another black ghetto girl. I get that there are some issues that aren’t a quick fix but the way they handled this situation was tasteless and very unprofessional! For the record I am a proud city worker, yes I do have a beautiful daughter that I provide for, and professionalism is something that I hold to high standard when spending my funds. Furthermore, I spoke to Wic and they will be contacting them about the incident, because they too saw that it was an issue on Harris Teeters part. I will say maybe it’s not a good idea to spend state funds at this store and if you are African American please don’t bother with customer service. I’ll be back with an update!!!

I must eat gluten free. This Harris Teeter offers a wide variety of gluten-free products. They also offer fascinating cheeses from around the world. Their Boars Head London Broil in their deli area is delightfully medium rare and full of flavor. What a delight to have such a good beef product. There was a young man working at the free-standing area of Boars Head products where he was offering an array of tasty treats made from various items. I brought him examples of gluten-free breads, flatbreads, and crackers that he could use to make gluten-free items so others like me who must eat gluten free have something they can eat. Another time I visited there, I found Bonne Maman(R) Pumpkin Spice Spread. The next time I came in, I wanted to buy all of it that they had in stock. They'd moved the display, so I couldn't find it. I had more-than-one employee helping me find more jars of it. They were successful and found the last 3 jars in the store. I bought all 3 and had already bought one. It's delicious. On one of those visits, I found a free-standing display on which 3 pumpkin-spice cereals were displayed. Since 2 were gluten free (Cheerios and Kellogg's Frosted Flakes), I bought both of them too. Both were tasty. I found everyone with whom I interacted to have excellent customer-service skills, a ready smile, a good attitude, and lots of helpfulness. I couldn't ask for a better experience. I fairly frequently travel by that store, so I'm going to choose that site over several other Harris Teeter stores because of all their staff members with whom I've had pleasant interactions.

It always has the freshest produce and it’s always nice and clean. Full of welcoming smiles. But when I tell you this generation of teens do NOT know how to do basic math it is so sad. Bill was $156.81Decide to pay cash, gave Amy $160. She told me my change would be $3.19, I then proceeded to tell her I had a cent, handed it over to her and she tells me with a straight face, “ummm…. Ok so your change will be $3.18 now.”Ooook ?

We had done business with Harris Teeter for years but the decline of quality and the average high retail pricing has turned us away. We can buy the same product lines (brand for brand) for up to 31% less at competitors. We have several new grocery outlets in Greensboro that offer fresh produce as a standard and better selection of branded items. Harris Teeter is now used on an occasional basis for the above. I would suggest that you do a simple online price survey. Taking the customer for granted and foisting 'free" come-on's doesn't work for us or many of our friends. Go elsewhere. Not only will you do better, fresher, you will enjoy fair COMPETITIVE pricing.
