I’ve been here for 7 months now. The cons outweigh the pros by a landslide and I can’t wait to leave.
Pros:
Decent location, pool overlooks the baseball stadium, Kaitlyn in the office is really nice
Cons:
-Terrible temperature regulation in unit - in a 1 bedroom apartment, it doesn’t cool anything besides the main room. Bedroom is easily 10 degrees hotter at all times. At one point I couldn’t even use my ceiling fan because the wiring was done poorly and another unit was controlling my fan. Finally they replaced it
-Complex is absolutely filthy and disgusting. Never been pressure washed. People don’t pick up dog waste. Everything smells like old garbage. Cockroaches, bugs, and other small dead animals all over
-The bushes near the one animal waste area are infested with hornets
-People will park in your paid parking spot and you have to jump through hoops to get them towed
-The trash situation is terrible. You place trash in a cubby door in the hallway, so it smells constantly especially because they don’t pick it up on weekends. The smell goes into your apartment. People are given the wrong keys so they place trash in your already tiny cubby. The trash truck also comes several days a week at 5am and is very loud.
-The gates and elevators are constantly broken, making it unsafe and a ridiculously far walk to get to your unit from your car
-They won’t give you 2 fobs, so it’s impossible to have a house cleaner, dog walker, house sitter, receive packages, get food or grocery delivery, etc.
-I’ve placed 4+ work orders because my shower smells like sewage, no one ever does anything to actually fix it. They blame it on the city water but my shower is the only thing that smells.
Funny enough, the fire alarms just went off as I was writing this. Had to evacuate for an hour and sit in the heat, and then they told us that the other working elevator for the building is now also broken. So until further notice, I live on the 6th floor of a building with no elevator, during the hottest part of the year. With 2 small dogs who can’t handle that many stairs.
Spend your hard earned money elsewhere! This place is a dump.

Have been here a year now and have no reason to complain. Great location and they offer many community meet ups and events if that’s what you’re looking for! Maintenance staff is on their game and fixed both of my inquiries the day of and stayed until they confirmed everything was good to go. You may have to look into paying a small monthly fee for parking if you are one to come and go at uncommon hours. Other than that, Dawn and her team have made it a place people are proud to call home!

I moved in at Carroll at Bellemeade in December 2023. It was a very smooth process. Caleb was the first to assist me, followed by Dawn. Both of them were great and very helpful. Kaitlyn was also very nice and accommodating. Upon my arrival, Dawn was very helpful and she made sure that I got everything I need to get settled. She gave me clear instructions and showed me the property. They were also very accommodating to my movers. This is a very nice community and comfortable to live in. I'm close to work and close to Downtown. There is a also an auto shop nearby where you can get your car inspection. It's just outside the apartment complex. It's a very clean complex and has a lot of amenities. Their maintenance guy, Michael, is also very helpful. When you make a request, they address them with haste and satisfactory. One time, somebody illegally parked at my spot and I was worried because it was after office hours. I reached out to the management right away and Dawn responded and addressed the problem. I can say, this is a highly recommended community and the staff are all very nice and helpful.

I've been here for almost a year and I can say that the apartment it's very nice! Everything is functional, and almost new - so you won't face any infrastructure issues.
Location is perfect for me, everything is very close and you don't need to drive to have a great dinner at downtown.
From my perspective, price is very competitive considering all aspects mentioned before!

Carroll at Bellemeade is a great apartment community. From the time I stepped into the rental office, I’ve been impressed with the staff and all that is offered to residents. The staff is friendly and responsive. My apartment is comfortable and quiet. The proximity to downtown is unmatched. My experience here has been great.

The apartment itself is nice, and it's an excellent location. I never had any issues when putting in work orders or any crime. All of my problems came from the office staff, from the day I moved in through now, three months after I've been moved out. - as long as you don't plan on needing anything from the staff you'll have a decent time.I was driving down to move in from several hours away. A few hours into my trip, I received a call that the only payment that they could take because of system issues right now was a banker's check. So I had to stop at a bank along the route. Along the trip I hit some significant traffic and now has to stop at a bank. When I realized this I called early afternoon and told them that I would arrive 20 minutes after hours. I asked if somebody could stay late; that was a hard no. Then they told me to get a hotel room in the attached Hotel - the walk-in rates were ?. It's hard to be mad when asking for a favor, but it's a good indicator of how willing people are to work with you.Time passes, and every interaction with the staff seems cold and calloused. Sometimes hidden behind a fake smile. Basically your existence will be a nuisance to the people working here. On one occurrence they just flat out ignored me via email, yes I followed up on it. They also did not seem to understand how to work their systems. It took them well over a month to add me to the package locker system. Over the 14 months I was there I can remember several days where I couldn't even get into my own apartment because the fob system was not working. After calling multiple times, it's finally taking me three months to resolve my security deposit. I didn't receive an updated final move-out receipt until October 25th(after my 3rd call), and the check was received on October 13th(after my first call) after moving out on June 16th. North Carolina has legally set times for landlords to return your money. The Caroll knows tenants won't do much so and often forget so they abuse the tenants, and if you don't ask for the money back, I'm sure you won't give it. It took me almost 90 days to receive my security deposit, something that, since there were no damages, should have been returned within 30 days. (worst case 60 if damages)Every time they receive a negative review, they send the same style cookie-cutter response, saying they appreciate the feedback and that if we have any concerns, we should email them. I have no reason to believe they actually care because if they keep saying the same response and the reviews keep talking about the same issues they obviously aren't changing anything.
