I bought a 2015 Subaru Outback with 119,000 miles a month ago. After two weeks, I found an incomplete recall on the car for a leaking front exhaust and noticed the CVT was leaking oil. I scheduled an appointment at Capital Subaru of Greensboro for the recall and asked about the CVT leak. They mentioned they’d check if it could be covered under a previous recall.
The next day, they sent me a quote for $1,710.77 to fix the CVT leak, along with a photo of the leak. I told them I couldn’t afford the repair at the moment. Later, they charged me $259.48 for diagnostics, even though they initially suggested they might be able to cover part of the cost under the recall. I feel it’s unfair to be charged for a diagnostic without any repair done.

Drove an hour to purchase a vehicle from them. Spent 8 hours finalizing my purchase to find out 30 days later that I will not be receiving my plates because this dealership did not inspect my vehicle before selling it to me, which apparently is illegal in NC. On top of that, I had to call them to rectify the situation and was told that my name was on a list of several others who they messed up on by not inspecting the vehicles. So the fact that they knew this error occurred and did not attempt to contact me is unacceptable. My temporary plate is now expired and I now have to scramble to fix their mistake. UNACCEPTABLE!

I would not take my business to Capital Subaru again in the future. This was a difficult process from the start. I began my interaction with Lyle, a sales rep who seemed very nice and honest about the vehicle, however in my text correspondence with him I discovered his dishonesty about the condition of the car. I was purchasing a 2015 Crosstrek as the second owner and was told the condition of the vehicle and when I raised questions about maintenance on the vehicle they were met with remarks about X services being performed by their service department to ready it for sale including the 100K mile services as the car was at 91K at the time, I was also told the tires had much life to them and was shown a photo of the quarter test on the Crosstreks tires. I later found out with my trusted mechanic that this vehicle not only has to be serviced in about 20K miles but that I do need new tires sooner rather than later. Upon closer review of the tires the tread did not match that of what was in the photos I was sent. I was also informed of a Code that affected the transmission(likely needing replacement) that had been present for well over 400 turns of the ignition (I had the car for 60 days) which was well over the amount I would have turned it on since purchase. This all aside from the final sale itself which I completed with a new manager Mr Campbell and never saw Lyle again coupled with the fact it took them 3 days with 3 separate trips to even get all the papers signed, the car wasn’t clean, and bait and switch pricing of the vehicle from $14,799 on the listing to $16,799 on the papers and additional tire warranties I was made to sign under the guise they were for the “included tire protection” then to find a $1,399 charge for this in the final paperwork along with a $399 theft protection charge I was never informed of. All this to say I will purchase my Subarus elsewhere from now on.

I had an exceptional experience at Capital Subaru of Greensboro, largely thanks to Jessica (Jessi) from the internet team. Her expertise and assistance made the entire car-buying process smooth and enjoyable. Jessi was incredibly knowledgeable, responsive, and accommodating throughout. Additionally, the finance portion with Johan, ensured that the financial aspect was straightforward and efficient. We entered the dealership and were immediately greeted by Nick Pappas who was so knowledgeable, professional, kind and excited about the brand he was representing. Nick Pappas took the time to answer all of our questions regarding a used Subaru purchase and encouraged multiple test drives. We eventually decided on purchasing a new Outback after talking with Nick regarding warranty and features. It took us time to decide which car was best for our family but Nick was patient, kind and professional throughout the entirety of our decision process and kept us informed at every turn. I recently bought a Forester with the help of Nick Papas. It was one of the best car buying experiences I've had. Nick is a no pressure salesman and very knowledgeable about all the features of the different models, so he sold me exactly what I wanted. Nick and Capital Subaru are great! Nick was a patient, no pressure salesman totally focused on providing me with the necessary Subaru information to make an informed decision to purchase a new Forester. The end result was i ordered a 2025 Forester which has now been delivered and I am 100% satisfied with both the purchase agreement and the new car.
