I've been a customer at Brown Gardiner for many years. They are competent, helpful, knowledgeable and kind. I recommend them without hesitation.

Called in to speak with the pharmacist about an interaction with my meds, im traveling across the country and not used to taking my meds while on the road. The call was answered by a female pharmacist who talked like she was chewing her face, I asked for the pharmacist as I had a medication question, she told me "there aint no pharmacist here, he left for the day" and hung up the phone. For the pharmacy to be able to be open a pharmacist has to be on site, she didnt want to deal with me because I had an out of state number and by the tone of her voice an attitude problem to go with it. Either way I would pick and choose who you do business with, the lady here is extremely rude and I will file a complaint with the state license bureau against her technicians license. She acted like a pig and deserves to be treated in return like one.

I've always enjoyed eating at this grill. Employees are very nice. Great customer service. This grill is very busy during the lunch hours. Finding a place to park can sometimes be a problem, but all in all I love this place.

Just on the outskirts of Old Irving Park, this was one of my favorite lunch spots growing up, and when back in town visiting. You MUST get an Orange-Aid. A classic staple, and made in house. Being here transports you back to simpler times that feels like Old Town USA. The old counter, low bar stools, still operating drug store and sundries section.... it's a real life throwback that so many of us hold dearly. You'll see the regulars, some medical people, some business people, some high schoolers on off campus lunch. Everybody can get a reasonably priced delicious meal and the warmth and comfort only a place like this can provide. While usually am a huge proponent of trying new things- always always get the No. 4 salad with my orange aid. Will snap some pictures next time we come through!

I have been wanting to try this place forever and not only is it cute in an old fashioned kind of way but it is also super cheap! Anywhere where I can have tots for breakfast is a win in my book! Quick service, nice people, good prices and good food.

Brown and Gardiner’s is an interesting place. It is historically significant because it has been in operation since 1959 and is the classic soda fountain on one side and drug store on the other. This slice of Americana has been significantly fading from the U.S. economic landscape over the last several decades. This place is worth a visit if for no other reason than that! But the utterly fascinating thing about my visit was the clientele. I expected a mostly local crowd of older country folk mixed with blue collar workers, all punctuated by an occasional tourist. The hoi polloi if you will. But the patrons were pretty much the opposite of this. It was filled instead with well-to-do people from the Irving Park area nearby. The country club crowd. B and G seems to be more of a social gathering, a place to see and be seen, rather than a stop for lunch. The patrons literally talk to each other across the restaurant, asking each other how awesome their lives are, what business trip their spouse is on, and what the kids are doing this weekend. It was as if they were LARPing their Facebook page. I can answer any number of questions about these peoples’ lives, including knowing their children’s names, 8 of which I learned in the 30 minutes I was there. And each name was more vomitrocious than the last. I inadvertently met Fletcher, Adelaide, Blaine, Flynn, Dylan, Tucker, Wade-William, and, brace yourself, Beasley. Certainly they are not here for the food. Don’t get me wrong—it’s good, but that’s about it. My patty melt came out very fast, meaning it was cooked earlier. I don’t care for that. Instead of one thick patty, it was two thin ones. Nice grilled onions. It could have used one more slice of cheese. Overall, they make a competent patty melt with a pleasant flavor. The hot dog all the way was similar. Good. Passable. Dog itself had a decent taste. The chili needed a little more spice. Likewise, the slaw was good but unremarkable. I wish they had toasted the bun—that would have made a really nice difference. The ubiquitous crinkle fries were done right. The servers seem to share all tables. I was visited by 3 different ones. 2 out of three were very friendly and cheerful. #3 was pretty deadpan. The price was reasonable. Because the food is good but not great, I am going with 3 stars. But it’s definitely worth a visit if you are nearby. You can experience some nostalgia. Plus you can keep up with what the Greensboro haute monde are up to. And learn a few names to NOT use for your own children.

YUMMY!! How cute is this place! It's so old it's awesome. Half pharmacy half restaurant. Came here for lunch around 11:30 with two of my girlfriends and was able to find a parking spot and a table fairly easy. I got a chicken sandwich with fries and sweet tea. Their sweet tea is soooo good. I loved eating here. I never even knew about it until my friend told me about it. I always go to the BP right beside it but never knew a place to eat was what all those cars were parking over there for. Belly got full so you know a woman is happy!!

This place will forever have a place in my heart. I've been coming here since I was a teen. Basically 8 yrs ago ;) hah. My parents would send me down to their lunch counter to pick up their delicious bacon egg and cheese toasted sandwiches and those tried & true traditional hot dogs. I got the chance to eat there the other week and it was just as I remembered! Very reasonably priced, friendly staff and if you're looking for a quick old school diner counter experience...This will feel like home!!
