Rented in Greensboro, NC and waited about an hour to get our car. When we did get it, it reeked of stale cigarette smoke and did not have a full tank of gas. Low tire pressure light came on while driving through a rural and unfamiliar area which was unnerving.

I have been getting the runaround for two days. The car I rented broke down. No one seems to know where the car has been towed. Because no one knows I am not able to get a replacement. It was Avis Roadside dept that had the car towed.

Upon arrival nd at return, 100% forward moving Customer Service attention from multiple staffers. Incredibly upbeat and helpful service, got all steps of the process completed in due time, and easy access to the vehicles once paperwork was done. Just what anyone would be looking for just off an airplane and ready to get to the destination! Will rent from Avis again for sure!

Hands down the best rental car experience I have ever had. Starting with the pleasant counter staff Ms.Cynthia. My company recently changed to Avis as our preferred rental service. That being said I had fear leaving my elite level from the other brand. I was so wrong. Avis now has a new customer for business and personal rentals. Keep up the good work Greensboro Avis!

(No exaggeration) Every person you see in this photo is waiting for a Avis car rental at the Piedmont Triad Airport in Greensboro, North Carolina. One man is crying because he has been waiting for 2.5 hours and is going to miss an important business meeting. Another woman who is trying to get to her loved one who is in the hospital has been waiting 2 hours (again, no exaggeration). These are reservations, just like mine, that were booked in advance. Unless you have hours available to wait, DO NOT BOOK HERE. Enterprise, Alamo, National, and Hertz are taking care of their customers just fine from what I’m seeing. Avis just wants you money with no consideration of their customers lives. On top of all of that, the customer service is rude and they are making smart comments to the ones who are panicking right now with not a hint of sympathy.

When I first arrived at Avis, which I had found out had merged with Budget rent a car, I was told that a vehicle was not ready to be picked up. I was on aline with several people ahead of me and several people behind me. We were told to sign our name on a clipboard so that they would call us in order. It did not matter whether you were signing up to get a car that day, or whether you made a prior reservation. That itself was not right. I waited over 40 minutes to get a car. The 2 female staff were not friendly and seemed to not care about the bad situation. I then pick up my car that does not have a I-Phone charger jack. What car doesn't have one besides the one I picked up. I had used Hertz at the same airport ( Greensboro, Piedmont) for many years and never had a bad experience with them. I will be back with them next year. smh

I would have given them “0” stars but it wouldn’t allow me to continue unless I selected at least 1. I have been an Avis Preferred member almost 20 years now and the service keeps getting worse. There are no helpful representatives at many airport locations and as a result one gets over billed due to the fact that they do not properly review your information at pick up or drop off. One then has to spend lots of time contacting so called “Customer Service,” to correct their mistakes and they then request you to take several steps before they can issue you a refund for excessive charges/errors created by their own reps. I think this is the last time I will be using Avis.

This is the first time I had such a bad experience with Avis at Greensboro airport NC. I am a preferred customer. Usually I just need to walk to preferred customer station, grabbing the car key and driving away. But this time I have to wait in line for 50 minutes even it says the line is for preferred customer and I can see my name and the car key is hanging on the board. It took the staff 12-15 minutes to take care one customer. Only 4 people ahead of me, but I waited 50 minutes in line. Once I got in the car, it has very strong smoke smell inside. I need to drive with all windows open for three days plus adding two air refreshers inside the car to get the smell off. Both my wife and I had suffered second hand smoking for the entire trip. Does Avis suppose to clean the car before rent it out?

This is a review specifically for Avis rental car in Piedmont Airport in Greensboro NC. Good customer service. Nice car selection and hassle free picking the car and dropping it off. Only thing is Avis preferred members still need to check in before getting the car. Otherwise, no complaints.
