We have a drahthaar and a wirehaire from this kennel and they are both amazing. They truly do it all, and do it all well. Chris has always been available and he's been very helpful. His passion for gundogs and versatile breeds is obvious.

VERY unethical breeder. Only breeds for money and has zero concern for the well being of their pups. Would not recommend. Stay far away from this "greeder"

Chris raises and produces great dogs. As an owner of one of his dogs I couldn’t be more pleased. The dog is biddable, has a ton of drive, and is a TRUE representation of the breed. His dogs perform no matter what the game. Truly versatile.

Chris is awesome! If you are looking to have your dog trained then look no further. Chris is very easily accessible and ALWAYS answers his phone. He is also very accommodating as well, our pups were still needing to be weighed every month for their heartworm meds, so we would travel there, get weights and then have the meds shipped to him. He gave the medications and he also made time in his very busy schedule to allow us some time to get the weight and all that.We've had 3 French Spaniels go through hunt training and we have been very pleased with their behavior. Chris knew that this particular breed is a bit soft and he did everything he could do to make them learn at their own speed without forcing too much pressure on them.Chris is very active on social media and is constantly posting updates on Facebook to show progression. This makes their time away a little easier knowing what they are doing!He has several game animals on site for the dogs to train with as well so they get exposed to not only birds, but rabbits, ducks, foxes and even wild hogs if you're into that! He also has ponds for the dogs to retrieve from.As far as pricing goes, Chris was cheaper than several other training facilities that we checked out which was an added bonus. Our dogs had a 3-4 month tour at Briarwoods and it was a great investment.I highly recommend that you give Chris a call before you make your final decision on where to send your dog for hunt training. Another thing to note is that he is HONEST! He will let you know if your dog does or doesn't have what it takes to move on to more training.

Owner stated that my dog would never be anything, because he did not come from a long expensive bloodline. Stated that it is “facts of nature” (had no peer reviewed sources to support an asinine claim) only stated that he was “known all over the world”. Went on to say “you wouldnt put a NASCAR driver in a Honda Civic”… i think what he meant to say was “you wouldnt put an amateur driver in NASCAR”. Imagine how the owner will treat your dog when you are not around, full and well knowing he may view your dog as unworthy of his time but he is worthy of your money. “Facts of nature” is his “honesty”. His claims can only lead one to conclude that his business is taking peoples money and blaming the dog when he fails… like saying “ill take your money but i know your dog will never be anything”. He even claimed that “the Govt would not buy a working dog without an extensive pedigree”… this is also completely false as i have worked with handler with dogs that where strays and or from the pound. If you are not wealthy enough to buy a dog from some champion bloodline, you are not good enough for Briarwoods. Briarwoods, thank you for you honesty that enabled me to save my money.

Chris is passionate about his work, and he has the knowledge and experience to channel that passion into producing and training some excellent hunting dogs. But believe him when he says these are hunting and hunt test dogs, not pets who occasionally go hunting. Manage your expectations. If you expect a high-drive, high-energy, high-intensity versatile hunting dog that you can take on ANY hunt, you won't be disappointed with a Briarwoods dog.

I have 2 jagdterrier's from this kennel and i couldn't be happier with them, chris has been a big help and always willing to answer any questions and help whenever needed, he is very knowledgeable about the breed and is a great trainer, highly recommend Briarwoods GunDogs for both their dogs and their training
