Recently got in an accident and used this Hertz through my insurance while getting my vehicle fixed. Being a Hertz gold member and having nothing but amazing experiences in the past I figure this would be a breeze. I was wrong!Reserved (personally spoke to a rep) vehicle two weeks prior to only get there and they didn’t have the reservation and there are no options but two. Electric car or a Chevy Malibu. The Malibu would an additional $10 a day after insurance. So I went with the electric car, after the rep said it was great and good on charge. Had the electric car for a week and put a total of $100 in it to charge it. The max miles you can charge it to is 200 miles. I refused to put more money in it so I requested to return it.I called two days prior to exchange. We get there and there are only like 3 options, one the vehicle was dirty so again 2 options. We go with the Hyundai Elantra. Don’t even get to the light the check tire light comes on saying the back right tire is at a 11/28 pressure. We turn around, the rep offered to air in the tire but we didn’t feel safe with it. We asked for something else. They then give us the Malibu with no exchange fee (which was $10 extra a day when I first came). Car has a smell and wasn’t clean when we received.Day 2 of having the vehicle we noticed the dashboard would go black when driving and following the map. The attached picture is of the tire as well, which could’ve blew out on me at anytime. I called to notify them they have nothing to give me. I then call around to other Hertz, nothing to give me locally. I returned the vehicle due to it being a safety hazard and they still charged me $73 because I brought it back at half a tank. Customer service was so blah! They acted like they didn’t even want to work there.My vehicle is still not ready and I have had to come out of pocket to rent from another place for last two weeks. To be a gold member and treated this way was terrible, I actually might cancel membership! Never again!!!! I have notified senior management and my insurance company for this huge inconvenience!!!

ZERO STARS! If you visit this location, please be very aware of the horrible customer service and representatives not following procedure and illegally charging you. Recently a representative here, Kendall Shrum gave me the worst customer service I’ve received in a while. When I told Kendall about what he did wrong, he became very defensive and aggressive with his response. Kendall verbalized to me all photos were taken and I would not be charged for a crack that was there before renting the car, 2 months after I dropped it the rental, I received charges for damage to a windshield not done by me. I rent often and never had a problem; my first time renting where Kendall assisted and he did not do so correctly: hopefully this issue is handled, but Kendall should not be working at the front desk.

Great service very pleasant and knowledgeable. They had a few questions when I walked in. They already had reservations from my insurance when I arrived. We did a walk around the vehicle to check for damage, also the inside. Looked great, full tank of gas. Signed paper work and was handed the keys. Quick and smooth. Return after 11 days. Same walk around inside and out. The gas tank returned full. Great experience. Thanks guys.

If I could rate it 0 stars I would. Made reservations at 2 different locations only to be called in route and told that there were no cars available! Why is there an option to make a reservation if there are NO CARS?! First reservation was done online, second done over the phone with a woman who said that she was at the location and looking at cars available in the parking lot, only to be called back by someone ACTUALLY at the location saying they had no cars and the lady we had spoken with was at a call center. What the hell? Thank goodness for family car rentals, they saved the day!

These people gave me a reservation and time to pick up my rental I got there to pick up and they told me we don’t have any cars left to give you unfortunately. I asked the guy well y’all had a few days to call me and tell me that. He goes on to tell me unfortunately we to busy to call you. They need to shut this unprofessional business down. I didn’t wanna give them any stars it’s the only way I could express my Experience Don’t Go There!!!!

Do not rent a car form them at all. They gave me a car with this tire. All they said was that they had already took to car to Firestone and they said the tire was fine. The Manger didn’t even seem to truly care in my opinion. They kept throwing it on the professional (Firestone). They never took responsibility for it. I did receive a refund but they said they would continue to rent the car out to the next person. Which let me know they could care less about peoples safety.Donte was the only one who was concerned and considered

Just returned my car and didn’t even realize the tire was flat. It drove fine. Oh my gosh this employee who was not Donte-because he had excellent customer service so returning I got some other gentleman who acted like I was on so much trouble!! Grow a set dude, flat tires happen. Quit acting so excited and act like a professional. That is the correct way to handle a flat tire. Take some customer service classes. He even upset another woman customer there who heard him and thought something serious happened. He really had issues and should probably not be in a customer service profession. He also kept referring it to as an incident and investigators were going to get involved. Oh please. Fix the tire and charge my insurance. Really, get a grip on reality and don’t talk to customers like they are a criminal for not noticing a tire was flat or low. I noticed they had some bad reviews but really needed a car. I have traveled and lived all over the world. I practically laughed at him when he got so seriously upset about a flat tire. Yeah I’ll drive to Charlotte to get more professional service. Hertz you really have to teach your employees better. Shame on their manager for letting him speak to a customer like that.

I received a free upgrade when I recently rented from here. They didn't have the mid size SUV I reserved and they gave me a GMC Acadia instead. I loved all the bells and whistles on that SUV and it was very roomy. The service from one of the employees could be better, some people really need to brush up their customer service skills.

We are new here and reserved a car for a one way travel. Me and my husband did not know we could only use credit and not debit (we've never rented a car before). I understand that you have to do things rite because it is your job and for that I COMPLETELY understand. The problem i had was the man did not seem to even want to speak to us. He even had a expression on his face that he didn't want to be bothered with us. We were simply asking questions because we didn't know. I finally felt uncomfortable enough to just not ask anymore questions and just left. We went through alot just to get to North Carolina and needed a way back to Saint Louis. He could've atleast suggested another place or something. I am disappointed in how he handled the situation. He quickly dismissed us as well.

It took a very long time for them to bring my vehicle after check in. Two people received their vehicles before me and they checked in well after me. The vehicle was dirty and damaged. It was dirty on the inside and had bugs in it (gnats and ants) that we had to fight the whole time of the rental. I am very disappointed. When returning the van it was a bit crowded. I told the person checking me out abt the experience and he gave me a $50 credit on a vehicle that cost me well over $300. Never again. I'll stick to Enterprice or Budget.

This place saved my life. Never will I go to an enterprise again after visiting the Hertz in Gastonia. The staff (Donte & Brian) were amazing and the process was so smooth.

Rented twice from them lately. Easy, flawless, low-key experience. Good vehicles. All rental rates are high now, but they had the best in the area. Personnel really try to accommodate you. Easy after hours returns at no additional charge - love that!

Very misleading. Needed a rental for three days. Was told to extend if needed since my car was being worked on by using the app or just call 800. Did so. Extended one day at same rate. Needed one more day and they told me do same process. Did that.However the rate went up three times the amount. The explanation was, Hertz treats five day rentals the same as seven day rentals. What?So if you only need a car for five days they will charge you for seven and their explanation is you can keep the car for seven.What about customers who only need a five day rental at a daily rate? In my opinion very misleading a deceptive.This is one reason they are are rated 3.7 in google reviews.
