I was inclined to give a 5 star review upon purchasing my car, the sales staff was extremely helpful, which is the only reason I’m not leaving 1 stars. I will say that they changed the small battery on the Toyota Prius I was looking at due to the old battery not holding a good charge and upon inspecting the vehicle there was nothing initially wrong with the vehicle, plus I fell in love with it, so I bought it. Around five days after buying the car, the brakes started to make a weird squeaking sound that it hadn’t made in the past and after taking it to get looked at, the brakes are completely nonexistent. They wouldn’t even let me drive the car off the lot without brakes due to it being a severe safety issue driving in the storm with absolutely no brakes on the car. After calling and speaking with the staff there’s nothing that they’re willing to do besides fix the issue in house, which isn’t an option for me considering I wasn’t even given my keys without the repair being done at Toyota and I’m out the better part of $1k for a repair that should have been caught and fixed during the “thorough inspection” Atlantic Auto claims to do.
Edit: I was not able to take the car from Toyota as the brake pads were worn down so thin that it was a safety hazard and there was a storm today that was already extremely dangerous for me to drive in. A pre-purchase inspection was never mentioned, but aside from that, do you as a business stand by morals so low as to sell a car that is unsafe to drive? Would you have rather I risked my life driving through flooded roads with no brakes whatsoever (for reference, everyone on the road this afternoon had hazards lit up and was driving 10 below the speed limit due to how flooded out the roads were in my area) for something that is purely at the fault of the dealer?

We went on a hunt to 11 different dealerships to find a new used car for my 16 year old. We ended up loving the VW Eos Komfort at Atlantic Auto Sales, so that one ended up the winner.
They had the full CarFax on it and it was in great shape. It needed a couple of small replacement parts to make the convertible top operate fully, so they agreed to get the parts ordered and fix those. The first part was fixed a few days later, so we went in and finished purchasing the vehicle.
The second part wasn't actually ordered until that day, but the top was operable at that point. So we agreed to take the car, but bring it back when the part came in so they could have their mechanic replace it. It took another two and a half weeks for that to happen, and a lot of lack of communicating. Therefore, for the hassle and the communication issues, they lose a star.
I also wanted the seats repaired since most of them were cracked and I didn't want them to get worse. While they don't fix those there, they connected me with Juan at JMC Upholstery, who did a phenomenal job at a really cost effective price.
Overall, Oscar and Omar were both great. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The car selection is diverse. But he forewarned that not all of them are perfect (they are used cars, after all). But I found them to be very up front about which cars had which issues upon questioning. So I appreciated their honesty the fact that they had all of the CarFax reports on every vehicle and that they were willing to fix the minor issues with our car in order to close the sale.
We are very happy with our choice to go with Atlantic Auto Sales and my daughter just loves her new 2013 convertible!

Fair. Communicative. I appreciated the way they do business and their directness. To be honest, I have never liked the general process of buying vehicles, but Atlantic made it as smooth as could be. Thank you, Jim. I wish you and the staff all the best, may God continue to bless you and yours.

This guy / Owner Jim as he stated on the phone after he told me to ( F ) off. All I was asking him to do was bring it less that 12 miles for me to look it over with my Toyota Mechanic. since I work all the time and can’t get to his dealership to look this auto over for my daughter. I told him I have the cash money but would like to put my eyes on it myself. He told me if I wanted to look it over I could come to the dealership myself. On his add he states he enjoys a challenge and will exceed your expectations. I asked him why he says this but will not do it he told me to F off.
Don’t spend your hard earned money here folks.

*** BUYER'S BEWARE*** I don't recommend this dealership to anyone me and my husband Johnny came in and bought a 2007 Red Ford Ranger from them and it has been less than 120 days and we have to have a transmission replaced and drive shaft needs repairing so after the stress of going through auto accident and losing our truck we trusted this company and now we have a truck in our yard not able to drive and making payments on this and now we have to figure out how to get this truck we just purchased fixed to even have transportation. If I could rate this dealership less than a 1 star I would. Heartbroken this truck has had issues and i am stuck with something i can't drive because i loved this truck and it is just sitting in my yard undriveable.

Great experience from the moment we pulled into the lot, they directed us where to park. Omar was attentive, and detailed, extremely helpful with vehicle questions and concerns. Jim the owner was extremely kind and nice. Definitely a family business where you feel like family, treated with kindness and care. Made car purchase easy and not to mention good quality vehicles.

Great place with many option to look at with great personalities. I was dreading. I’m going to look at cars. I’m not a people person and I don’t like to be smothered, but these guys are not like that. They acknowledge you when you get there and then they let you be. My daughter is a very picky person she had test drove multiple vehicles I mean multiple until she finally found the right one. These guys were awesome and patient with us and never smothered us, didn’t try to get us to get something she didn’t want. I know I have looked at other car lots but Atlantic auto sales has them beat and the drive from Jacksonville to Garner was well worth it and when I need another car I will be returning here. Thank you Oscar and the rest the team

The dealership listed a Miata on their website that looked promising. Upon arriving, I find out the airbag light is on, meaning the car has a non-functioning airbag. The dealership was aware of this, as the salesman asked me how the car drove after I drove it and upon me mentioning this said "yeah, we know." It is dishonest to not disclose this in the listing and to only let people find out after driving to take a look at it (which, for me, was about 50 minutes each way).
I asked if they're willing to fix it before selling it or lower the price given that it needs a major repair, but they said they "don't want to mess/put anything more into the car" and insisted all of its issues are cosmetic. They said the car was in "really good" mechanical condition, and the price wouldn't be lowered. If your car has a nonfunctional airbag, that isn't cosmetic, nor is it in "really good" mechanical condition. Furthermore, this almost certainly means that they tried fixing it, realized they couldn't figure it out, and gave up. They say they "never sell cars they don't personally approve" on their website- so they approve cars without working airbags?
This is a shady used car dealer. Avoid.
Edit: Owner responded and said that I had said I was watching the car since they lowered the price. This is not true. I said that I saw the listing had been up since September, as Autotrader displays how long listings are up.
Nor is it true that I was upset that they couldn't go any lower on the price of the vehicle. My frustration is that there is something majorly wrong with this car that they are not disclosing to buyers up-front. Merely a photo with the airbag light on isn't enough- it looks like the dash is not turned on. If the car has a non-functioning airbag, that needs to be said LOUD AND CLEAR in the description. Even then, it is really bad form to sell a car without a working airbag. It is illegal in many states for dealers to sell cars w/o working airbags.
