We will always recommend this office and their whole staff. We've been taking our 3 dogs there for a few years now and have never had a bad experience. This most recent experience is the one I am focused on and have to come here to brag on them about. There is a lot to the story, but the bottom line is I have never seen a vet so caring and go thru so much for just one senior dog. Dr. Hampton is the best and I can't express enough how much support she has given us through some tough times and decisions.

Took my dog to get spayed and hernia repair. I was told that DrPadfield who preformed he surgery would call when finished. Waited all day no call. I started to get worried so I called at 4. The office staff said that my dog had just started to wake up and the doctor would call after she was out of surgery. I waited all night no call. I left a voice mail saying I was worried and can they call me in the am. 730 am no call. I called again at 8 people were in meetings or busy couldn't talk to me. They basically don't care. I have never been treated so poorly. This is not the first time this has happened. last time my dog was sick I asked to be called back and the doctor never did.surgery is a big deal and they charge a lot of money . It is not too much to ask for a doctor to call and tell u how your pet is doing. I'm headed there now to pick up my fur baby. Just beware of who u leave your animals with.

I am a new client a this vet and have had 3 visits so far. I have been so pleased with everything about this place! First of all it is clean! Very clean! The staff is very friendly and professional. They remember my dog and run the front office very efficiently. The vets I've seen have been excellent! They also have a nice variety of items for sale I may need. My experiences there have been nothing less than perfect. We couldn't be happier.

Dr. Bray is an exceptional veterinarian and she has been treating all of my pets for more than a decade. She is a great problem solver, she is so kind with my pets, and she treats whatever is going on so they recover quickly. I would give her 10 stars if I could! Everyone who works here is great and they treat you and your pet so well.

On May 1 my cat was alive. On May 21 my cat was having seizures and died. Despite my repeated phone calls to Dr. Ward for pain relief for the cat both the day before and on the day of his painful death she was refusing to return my calls. I guess she was too busy cranking up the patient flow and bringing in the $$ to call me back and prescribe medication for my cat to get the pain relief I was requesting. Now I know for sure what DVM stands for -DOING IT FOR MONEY. She had no compassion for my kitty and apparently did not care how much he was suffering. The day will come when this woman has her own pain. Maybe she will be thinking about all the pain the animals she was supposed to be caring for were suffering when her MD says, "We can't give you anything to relieve your pain." Karma.

UPDATE: Just got my post-op results from the other vet, and my dog's splenic mass was non-cancerous. So Academy East almost had me euthanize her, for no reason. She's doing amazingly, perky and puppylike - no thanks to this vet.

I've never given a review on Yelp, but I have to give a 5* rating to this amazing team of doctors, nurses and assistants who came to my rescue in am emergency situation. I am visiting my brother for the week and anyone who knows me knows that animals come first in my life. A few years ago, I came back to Fuquay to stay with my Dad for a period of time. One day, a precious cat showed up in the back yard. and of course I started feeding him. 'Sweet Pea'iuh, clearly was not feral and before long was living in the house with me and my Dad. When I left to go back home, I was unable to take Sweet Pea with me and for the past year, a long time friend of my brother has been living in my Dad's house and taking care of Sweet Pea, but only as an outdoor cat as she is allergic. The first thing I did when I arrived was go to the house and look for Sweet Pea. He came running out from the bushes, and my heart melted. When I fed him, I noticed he was struggling to eat and knew he was having dental issues. I had to get him to a vet but I am only her for the week.To my dismay, I called around multiple clinic and everyone was booked for months. As fate would have it, AND lots of prayers, my friend who rescues cats, called Academy East, which I was unaware of, explained the situation, and they happened to have one cancellation. The bottom line is, he had a mouth full of abscessed teeth, all were pulled, leaving him with only a few teeth, but a much healthier mouth. Dr Jaime Barta performed the very difficult surgery, but what's so mazing is she went beyond the call of duty and discovered Sweet Pea's eye was compromised which led her to look for other injuries and concluded he had been attacked by an animal in the past as she found scar tissue under his eye which causing his eye lid to heal abnormally but that he had also lost a portion of his tongue obviously in the same fight. Sweet Pea had seen a vet while I was staying with my Dad a few years ago to get a health exam and all the necessary shots, but no one ever noticed his injuries. To say Dr Barta's bedside manner was pure compassion is an understatement. And Tanya, who greeted me in the morning when I dropped off Sweet Pea was simply delightful. Cuddos to a great veterinary hospital and my final comment is the cost was beyond reasonable. That should never a reason to choose a veterinarian, but it truly was a relief as Sweet Pea is not my cat, and unfortunately not going home with me. I can rest easier knowing he has a healthy mouth and no longer in pain thanks to Dr. Barta! God Bless All of You!!

I love the vets in this office. They really take their time with your pets. My complaint is the price. This is the most expensive vet office I've ever been to. I have a lot of pets and I was expecting a multipet discount, but I didn't get one even after asking. I've also been charged for tests that were not performed. Check your bill before you leave!
