This place does a very good job at finding homes for dogs. Always sad to see when dogs are just dumped but these people do an outstanding job. But they do need volunteers for walking and donations and why don't you Foster a dog if you can

No kill shelter in Macon County that does amazing things for the critters. We are beyond blessed to have them as advocates for those that have no voice.

Very nice staff we adopted (X-mas) now named Waylon on 12/29 and he is perfect for us!

Appalachian Animal Rescue Center is a not-for-profit, 501(c) 3, no-kill animal rescue center located in Franklin, North Carolina. Our mission is to maintain a shelter for stray and abandoned dogs and cats in Macon County, to promote spaying and neutering, and to educate the public about state regulations and communicable diseases including rabies.
