Updating this review based on recent events:
I recently had a package coming that was delivered to the wrong address. Long story short it turned into an entire ordeal of it being delivered back to a post office and lost.
The postmaster was incredibly helpful in getting it tracked down and updating me by phone every step of the way. Very kind woman who was genuinely sorry my package was lost. Package is now back on it's way to me.
As for the reviews mentioning delayed packages : The Fletcher Post Office doesn't deliver packages same day that arrive to them after 9 AM. If that happens your delivery will be moved up to the next day.

What happened? This used to be such a good post office. Now the counter ladies are too busy doing other work than waiting on customers, so you can stand and wait around or leave your package that they promise to scan, but won't. Laziness or incompetence?

Terrible customer service. They “don’t do” certain tasks after a certain time of day? Never encountered that response from the USPS until the Fetcher location. New staff immediately

The WORST post office ever! If I could give 0 stars I would. They continually refuse to deliver packages to us when they are too "large" for the mailbox. I have spoken to the Post Master several times and all she does is give ridiculous excuses and never attempts to fix the problem, cause she's "too busy". That's your job. They leave notes about the packages with lies on them like, "couldn't find the address", but everything has easy to read directional signs all the way to the house. OR "can't get traction on gravel", but obviously no attempt has been made, no spin marks, etc. Meanwhile a Prius can drive up and down just fine backwards or forwards. They just don't try and leave a lie as an excuse. You pay a ton of money to have something shipped to your address to reach YOU and instead they keep it because they're lazy and YOU have to go get it. That's called stealing; you pay for a service and don't get it. Whatever if the package is time sensitive and you needed it that day. They DON'T CARE.

Diane who works at this Post Office is the Best!! I had ordered a package and thought it was coming through UPS, Come to find out it came through USPS. I called USPS direct line and the lady was unable to help me. But Diane at the Post Office was able to locate my package before it got returned to the sender!! The Package had my Husbands Anchor for grauating the Navy that I am taking with me to his graduation, Her help today means the world to me because without her help I would have been empty handed!

My package was not delivered as the message sent to me was "no access for delivery". There is clearly a mailbox right at the road or it could be delivered to garage door as has been done along with other mail. Very disappointed

The counter staff that works at this location are amazing. Treat everyone with respect. Unfortunately for them they work for a postal service that charges more constantly while purposely making service worse. I have sent over 1000 packages thru this post office with no issue. Don't blame the staff because of what the USPS gives them to work with. They just have really bad employers . Thank you all for your hard work your such a pleasure to deal with even my son likes to come with me just to say hi .

If there’s a “worst post office in the state”, I’m sure this is it.Don’t blame the inside counter staff. Friendly to a fault.You probably can’t blame the delivery drivers.Their simply doing what the local post master tells them to do. I’ve had several exchanges with our local post master. She spends the majority of her time passing blame instead of solving the issues.I will contact the NC Post Master and the Federal Post Master to also get their input.

I had a package that was supposed to be delivered today. Instead of delivering the small package they returned it to the post office at 2:18pm when they close at noon. Some lazy mail carrier didnt want to deliver a very small package and now my dad has to wait until Tuesday to go pick it up.
