Shame that Subaru hates their customers and continue using failing CVT's since the 80's, and frankly, still have no idea how to make them work. Second subaru with a failed cvt. Buy a different manufacturer.

I bought my Crosstrek from them in 2021 and so far it has been great! I was not use to all the electric upgrades the newer cars have now and Subaru staff gave me the opportunity for me to bring my car back so they could re-teach me about all the electronic hands free gadgets even though I had already bought the car. I bring my Crosstrek back to them for services and inspections and staff are always friendly and helpful. they send me a video each time explaining what the mechanic is doing and seeing in my car as they are working on it. Staff from Subaru Hunter called me on my birthday just to wish me a happy birthday! never in my life have I heard of a car dealership do this before, it was so sweet!

I took my 2013 Subaru outback to Hunter Subarus service department after it began lurching and the check engine light came on. I did expect that it could be a costly repair but never expected what they came up with. I received a detailed report within a couple days claiming my car needed over 9000 dollars in repairs. This ranged from a new catalytic converter to a supposedly leaking cam seal/valve cover gasket and a full fluid service. The tech claimed the engine was so dirty due to leaking oil that they would need to clean the entire engine. This would outweigh the cost of the car and they valued the trade in at 800 dollars. I realized I needed a second opinion and took the car to a trusted Subaru specialist locally. Upon inspecting the vehicle he found that the cam seal and valve cover gasket were not leaking at all. The spark plugs had never been changed and had caused misfires. A simple spark plug change and fluid service had the car running like new with no codes or check engine light. Hunter Subaru would have had me sell this car, which is in good condition and purchased for 11000 dollars, for less than 1000 and purchase a new car from them on the grounds that it was nearly mechanically totaled. Beware of this dealership and their service department, seek a second opinion in the case of proclaimed costly services.

Jhon is awesome! Second major service I have done there and I will never go anywhere else. Jhon kept me up to date with everything as it was happening. Great guy. The managers also really helped me out and I didn’t even ask for it. I just go a call and they offered to help. That’s awesome customer service. 10/10 crew at Hunter. Thank you to all involved in my service!

I was involved in an accident in April 2023. My car was originally in the shop at Hunter Collision Center for 3 months. when I picked it up, there were still obvious signs that the car had been in an accident (improper door alignment, gaps around the fender, improperly fitting inner fender, and a dent in the hood, just to name a few). Here we are 11 months later and Hunter Collision has yet again dropped the ball. My hood still doesn't fit properly and there are still fender and door adjustments that need to be made. I've spoken to Patrick (who's no longer there), then Jose (who replaced Patrick), then their manager Jeff. Even Jeff doesn't seem to take action until I make a 2nd or even 3rd phone call. It's like holding hands with a toddler. I'll be happy to upgrade my review after they've completed my work. But as of this moment, I'm not a happy customer and I wouldn't recommend Hunter Collision Center.

This was my second time dealing with hunter. Five years ago it was a total disaster! So against better judgment I gave them another chance. Results were not good as they made very little effort to sell me a car. Credit or no credit they didn't give me a chance. Didn't come back and say we would love to sell you a car but in order to do so this is what we need. They even have two other dealerships right there that they could have suggested. But no not one option was offered!!! They are one of the worst around. Never again!!!

Amazing customer service front Joe in Service Department. Very impressed by how he handled a slight issue. It's good to see lots of personnel seeking to serve.

Excellent extra mile service from Jhon. Dropped off our Outback in for check engine light and also routine service. 45 minutes later we received a video going over condition of brakes, tires, filters, etc so we knew about the general wear items. Later we got a call with a price to repair the cause of check engine light which we gave the go-ahead for. We went to pick up our vehicle but got caught in bumper to bumper State Fair traffic. We called Jhon to let him know we were not going to make it before closing and he offered to stay late and check us out. Truly awesome service and greatly appreciated!

Bought a 2021 Subaru cross trek NEW that gave me nothing but problems and hunter Subaru refused to fix it. I had to bring it in multiple times and nothing would get done. Horrible service advisors that don't care to actually take care of the car. Would not recommend service with this dealership. Looks fancy but has the rudest and careless workers there

Took our new Outback in for a computer problem and waited for nearly 3 hours to get them to diagnose the issue. They dismantled half the dashboard and still didn't find the root cause of the matter. They stated that no error codes were found, so they simply reset the software. On our way home, one of the errors popped up again, so apparently the dealership will tell you justwhat they want you to hear. I told the service writer to adjust the nitrogen in the tires while it was being serviced and he assured me that it would be done. My onboard diagnostics told me something different on our way home. The left side tires were overinflated while the right side was still low. This could have been accomplished in a hot minute, but they neglected to do it. Seems like smooth talking is a basic skill to keep your job here at Hunter Automotive.
