I understand construction, and I don't mind walking. But as a Gold member, I was expecting a gold line. There wasn't a line of people, I walked right up to the counter, but I had to go to a counter. Normally, we don't have to go to a counter. And she couldn't tell me a car parking number. I had to walk around beeping the lock button, which I'm sure was annoying for other people. Why aren't the gold cars lined up to get right into? I see the other reviews, and it looks like the Construction has been going on a long time. It wasn't horrible, but not what I expected a a gold member

This location charged me an extra 2 days on my rental for no reason and does not have a phone number that connects to them. Will be issuing a chargeback shortly.

Was told the car was clean, the car was not clean.
Stuff under the seats, bits of food
Stain on the back seat
The only true thing was that it had a full tank of gas.
The outside car was visibly dirty.
2 stars cause they were the only one with an available car in a time of emergency.

*Editing after owner’s AI response: what is a number to contact someone at your Asheville airport Hertz location that actually works???? This is an emergency. I need to speak to someone.
The absolute worst location I have ever experienced. Wanted to extend my rental one day due to an emergency, well this is a franchise location so you need to get in contact with the actual airport Hertz rather than Hertz corporate. Here is the kicker - the phone number does not connect and no one answers. It was so bad, I called Alamo at the Asheville airport, who answered and I begged him to walk over to the Hertz desk and ask them to call me. How ridiculous is that???? Not to mention, they never called!!!! I need to extend due to an emergency. Hertz Asheville - you are so horrible and need to do better. Give me a call if you see this so I can actually extend my rental. This is not rocket science, whoever owns this location should be ashamed. Hertz Corporate, if you see this, close this location down immediately or inquire for new management. Absolutely embarrassing.

I rented from the Patton Avenue location. The start of the rental process was not too great but did get better. The rental vehicle was ok. The return process was good. This was my first time renting from Hertz and to be honest I will go back to Enterprise, if, and when, I need another rental.

Only book with this location if you’d like to wait a ridiculous amount of time for a rental you reserved months in advance. Should’ve listened to the most recent reviews on this one.

This was the worst experience ever! This was an embarrassing experience for Asheville Airport. At 12 p.m. on Friday afternoon, multiple flights arrived from all over. The temporary car rental center had three staff members working the counter, representing ALL rental car agencies. One person was for Hertz, Dollar, and Thrifty, one was for Enterprise, National, and Alamo, and one was for Avis and Budget. Nearly 200 people were waiting over an hour for cars.

Waiting in the heat in a line for over an hour and a half to get a car. Worst ever set up to rent a car! Long line and only 1 person at the window. So very very SLOW! I understand these are temporary facilities due to construction but it doesn’t account for why more people aren’t working the windows!! Where is a manager?!!

I was picking up a car at the Asheville airport. I am a President's Circle member. Last year they had a president lot this year looks like they are becoming like Dollar or Thrifty they are losing their premium status.
My car was not ready I had to wait 30 minutes or more for the car plus I did not have the selections that I am used to. The guy at the counter had no clue how Presiden's Circle works. I asked him if I had a choice of cars and he said no. AVL Hertz operations suck this time.
16:20. Just got my car. It's hot and I asked if Hertz had a AC room for the Elites members to wait in. I am hot, sweaty, and mad. Did not expect this level of low service from Hertz.
And yes do contact the management. They could have told us to wait by the elevators in the garage at least that has AC. Plus brought the car over to the good.

The rental experience was disappointing. The young gentlemen (who did not act as such) began demeaning an older female coworker in front of me while checking me in. I asked for an explanation of the manager special which I (my fault) thought would be a car. I was given a truck and was not pleased especially when I saw that I could rent a car for the same price for 20 minutes later (which I would have waited for). The "gentleman" was very rude and I became irritated (to the point of unbecoming of me). I was not happy to say the least. The lady behind the counter was very nice (I still cannot give more than 1 star) and tried her best to calmly explain the manager special. I was then told by the gentlemen that the truck had no damage prior to my picking it up (which it was heavily damaged on the outside, I have video). I do not plan on using Hertz rental again. Needs new management and employees. Get rid of the "manager special".
