Reserved a car a week ago and was hit with holiday flight delays, tried to get in touch with this branch for almost 12 hours, nobody there answers the phone, there’s no way to leave a message. I booked the rental through expedia, they couldn’t get in touch with budget either, they said it’s probably canceled, but didn’t know, all they could do was offer was to refund my insurance money, cancel the reservation and leave me stranded at the airport. Please answer your phone.

Terrible. The car rental systems in Asheville are broken. Budget at the mall is INSIDE the mall at the very end by the Barnes & Noble — there are NO signs. Website says they are open til 7:00pm — when I arrived at 6:03pm the Budget gate/door was closed and locked and nobody was there! Had to get a ride to the airport Budget location. I had reserved a small/compact car and all the airport had was a huge minivan! Trash inside the minivan — not a huge deal, but definitely not clean despite their big signs stating major cleaning fines for various offenses. Enterprise also never has cars — would love to know if anyone has a reliable go-to for car rentals in Asheville!

Our first car had issues. We had to return it to the airport rental location for another vehicle. The second car also had issues. Tire pressure was down to 27, so we had to stop at a gas station and put air in the tire. Imagine our surprise when we saw that the cap was missing, which obviously had something to do with the low tire pressure. Disappointing...

I’m sorry to say it’s unlikely I’ll ever use Budget car rental again. Despite arriving at the precise time we’d indicated on our reservation, we waited a full two hours at the airport before getting the keys because there were not enough cars to accommodate everyone. Although the staff was friendly in a difficult situation and our vehicle was fine, this two hour delay to our vacation greatly impacted the plans we had and our overall experience in Asheville.

NO CARS! Reservation made and paid for with pre check in completed. Arrived shortly before 11pm ready to get to my destination. Absolutely no one at the counter. The other rental company's told us they were "shuttling cars". With this many people having reservations, this late in the day, how do you not have the cars available and ready for your customer??! Can't call anyone because the phone number at the local desk doesn't work and the 800 number is closed! Do better!!

We waited and hour and half for them to wash cars for dozens of customers waiting with reservations. 2 behind the desk just sitting there staring at people when they could've been out washing too. Never again from this joke of a car rental company.

In addition to the SUV I reserved not being available, I received a smaller car with a half tank of fuel; upon return, I advised the agent, and they said it wasn't a problem and they'd take care of it. I showed them photos of the fuel level/mileage at pickup and return but when I received my invoice via email, a fuel service fee($64.94), tax, and a surcharge had been added. I picked it up at half and returned nearly full but still hit with charge to allegedly fill up and no credit for the downgrade was offered either. Please reach out and make this right.

Had a reservation but no cars were available. They said they were all dirty and the cleaning crew was short staffed. The guy at the rental counter was unapologetic and not friendly. Finally went to another rental car company in the airport and was quickly attended to by a very nice staff who upgraded us.

Probably the worst experience I've ever had with a care rental - waited well over an how to get car. Car was returned on time with a full tank of gas - was then charged for an extra day - had to call and dispute the charges. 2 MONTHS later received a letter and was charged with damages that weren't specified at all, just a dollar amount. Called again and corporate refunded the money. The whole experience made me never want to use budget again.

I made my reservation thru Costco and it was very easy to pick up and drop off. I do wish we did not have to go back inside to the counter to drop off but given the small size of the airport not a big deal. The staff was friendly and we did not have any issues.

Awful. A dozen people waiting for cars they reserved. And the company says they have no cars available. If they were reserved, they should be there. And the kind attendant tells me it will be 10 minutes. It's been 45 minutes so far. Other have been here waiting for nearly 3 hours.

Beware of renting a car in Asheville on Sunday night. Despite having reservation at Budget we waited 2 hours after being told 45 min. Then we were given a little slip of paper with make and model and told to go find the car in the parking lot amongst all the other car rental places. Keys were in the car so we couldn’t even ding the keys. No attendants in the garage to help. Found the car after 20-25 minutes. Then we had damage to right front end not knowing if we were going to get blamed because no mention or paperwork given. Worst experience ever!

I owe them an apology. I incorrectly rated them very low on their internal review section because there was an extra $60 charge on my rental. At the time I could not pull up the E-Receipt for some reason. Later when I was able to, the reason was clear. I checked my time in and I was indeed late. Not Budget's fault, but clearly mine. Charge was accurate and the associate that gave me the car was a nice as she could be. Car was wonderful and drove really well on a very long trip. Mileage was absolutely wonderful (35-36mpg) for a Toyota SUV type vehicle. Everything in the car worked great. Wife and step-daughter were very comfortable on our very long trip. Again, I apologize Budget, you were not at fault. I was. You did your part correctly.

Budget Car Rentals. I drove from Ashville, NC to Melbourne FL with a tire like this. Tire began losing pressure. Tire light came on, tire began shredding as I drove at highway speed.Shame on the mechanics and service department that services their vehicles.
