They won’t cancel a membership and will continue to charge you. Even though the gym has been closed for a year due to poor maintenance to the facility. Probably the oldest equipment in use to customers in the Fayetteville area. Dirty pool with no one managing lap lanes. I only joined this gym to swim laps in the summer with my teenage daughter. I regret signing up here though. I recommend everyone else seek out cheaper and better gyms.

I'm writing this in hopes that someone from the YMCA will reach back out to my multiple phone calls and emails. As of September 22nd 2022 the Sandhills location has been shut down due to water damages. Members were given the opportunity to use other local gyms and pools that the Y facilitated, with no extra fee. I emailed and waved out of this. For me the main focus of having a gym membership with them was for the pool. As of May I began pressing them to cancel my membership due to services I was paying were unable to be rendered. However, there was no response, just a continued monthly withdraw from my account. Over the past 5 months they have stollen 335 from my account and refuse to contact me back in correcting this. Knowing this is a christian company constructed on christian believes I would assume they would abide by the Ten Commandments. The second one being "thou shalt not steal." This would directly contradict their very public business model. I am hoping by creating public awareness that this organization will email, call me back or simply return all of the money they have stolen from my family.I hope you all have a blessed day and I caution you to work with this organization.

The YMCA is a pillar in any community. While they offer a myriad of activities for the youth and the senior citizens; they also programs/ grants for those who can not afford membership and or summer programs.

The life guards physically intimidated my children and management refused to hold him accountable. Our family no longer feels comfortable being at the pool.

I was playing basketball when my phone, car keys, and wallet were stolen. When I asked them to check the video footage of the security camera, they were very vague and simply said, “it’s not there. The footage stops when the crime happened.”That tells me someone working there is crooked. Don’t know if I’ll ever come back to this location.

I love the “Y”…from the swim lessons to personal training I enjoy coming here especially when greeted warmly by s great staff! They are always warm and friendly, the ones that greet you at front desk to others such as Ms Bartholomew, Ms Carly and others… They are always very professional and helpful

I personally loved the facility . Staff was friendly and I love all the amenities they have for the gym members . I love the atmosphere there , I always went in there with the attitude that I was going to go in there and put in hard WORK and pushed my self to my limits , and they have all the equipment to reach what ever goal you want to acheive . over all I mostly enjoyed the steam sauna , the pool and the weights .

Great spot. I have always enjoyed coming for fitness classes and rec. sports. This place has been here for as long as I have?... plus friendly staff.

I have read these reviews and honestly think that they are jaded. Yes, there are rules, like anywhere, but many of these reviews are being left by parents who allow their children to disrupt other paying members from their activities. I have personally been in the midst of completing my laps in the pool and parents have allowed their children to be in and out of my lane even though the other lanes were empty and then the parents get mad at the lifeguards for saying that wont be tolerated. I admit that the facility is in need of a good makeover, especially the locker rooms and showers, but I have always found the staff to be polite, helpful, and organized.

So since when do they need extreme paperwork to join the ymca!!I feel like I’m being discriminated against!! The staff and the way they talked to me was unprofessional and down right rude. I used to love going to this facility but not anymore! My family and I don’t feel welcome at all since trying to return back here. I never knew it was this difficult to rejoin the ymca. The staff here definitely needs some retraining ASAP!!!

If I could give this YMCA negative stars I would! This branch is one of the worst managed and unethical organizations I have ever worked with! We became members to take advantage of their advertised swim lessons, but at every turn received misinformation, poor communication and horrible customer service, all while being charged monthly for a service they never provided - turns out we were the ones being taken advantage of! After waiting seven months we NEVER actually received what we paid for!!! They had absolutely no problem charging a military family a full membership fee while continuing to promise a service they were never equip to offer. Now they refuse to refund our money, while claiming to be a Christian faith based organization. We're now pursuing legal actions. Make sure you don't get taken advantage of by this highly unethical branch!!!

So I had a very unpleasant visit with this establishment and would encourage anyone who has the opportunity to use anther facility to take your business elsewhere. I don't do this often but this facilities staff are a sad excuse for workers.So rude and beyond unprofessional.(Audra Williams the Director)Was VERY........... DISRESPECTFUL AND WAS OF NO ASSISTANCE AT ALL.My family have been loyal customers here for years. I been told I can't come to the facility without warning because someone said they heard me cursing ?

I signed my daughter up for swim lessons back in August and paid $82 for 8 sessions. The swim lessons started in September and after the first lesson, me and my daughter tested positive for COVID so Audra Williams told me they were canceling the 8 sessions and told me that she would call me about rescheduling. I never received a call back and called in November (since the class was suppose to go thru the end of October) and was told there was no open spots and there were no classes available in December so I put in a request for a refund for the sessions. I have called every day this week trying to get ahold of Audra about my refund and she has not emailed or called me back and every time I call they tell me they are going to email her and they can't do anything else. Every time I call she has either just left the office or at a different location or in swim lessons, and so I'll call back and "I've just missed her". Its ridiculous.
