My first time after years getting a silk press and I am emotionally distraught! I couldn’t even speak after looking at my hair. Im a natural curly girl and take pride in my curls and at this point I am praying my hair isn’t damaged. The stylist made several passes on each section with the flat iron and I asked politely if this was going to damage my hair, I was told no. other stylist walked past or just watched this happen and I ask for a deep side part but left looking like this. I am 8 months pregnant and wanted to get my hair done for my maternity photos. Very sad this happened to me. I can’t even note the stylist name because she never introduced herself to me.

My first visit to the salon today and I didn’t really know what I wanted. Liz, helped me figure it out and I am over the moon with the results! Liz took the time to ask me questions and we had a great conversation while she did my hair. I highly recommend Liz and the JCP salon!!Services: Haircut

Beware. Do not goto this salon!$474 were charged for a service hair keratin and that was right but 3 days after I got hair color that damaged my hair keratin. I got hair keratin and color at JCPenney salon, they knew it color would reverse keratin and their salon manager told me after I complained them that my hair doesn’t look like keratin done. The case was forwarded to their store leader Sharon which proudly said that she will be partnering with hair salon and doesn’t take credibility of their unprofessional hairstylists and deed to my hair. I contacted corporate as well but they leave it to Sharon. I will have to take action against JCPenney

I am calling corporate!!! Liz just charged my daughter $230 for a relaxer and silk press. No harm but by definition, a silk press is done to natural hair. She charged $80 of the silk press and $80 for the relaxer. I understand the style and cut ( which was a trim). but to come out $230 and this is not her first relaxer. She didn't pay this much for a relaxer on Virgin hair! Her hair is very soft due to her Chemo. I am calling corporate. Never in my life! My daughter use to go there all the time before her bone marrow transplant. I understand a price change but to just have been there 6 weeks ago and I had my other daughter there who actually has natural hair and came out $100 less. She is messing over the customers. I refuse to send my daughters back!!! She took advantage! And YESSS, I am P.O. My daughter has always trusted them. Now I see that along with people change, ethics change as well.Service: Hairstyling

I had hair stylist Raquel at the Cross Creek mall in Fayetteville, Nc. Raquel did full highlights and other color and cut to my long hair and in 51 years she did the very best I have ever had done. I highly recommend Raquel. Thank you I will only go to her now. She is only available on weekends.Service: Hairstyling

I can honestly say that this was the worse experience I have ever had in a salon. I made an appointment for a silk press, color and trim. The stylist took 25 minutes to even get started on my hair (I was on time for my appointment)She colored my hair, put a plastic bag on my head and placed me under a hairdryer. The color started dripping down my forehead, around my neck and down my shirt.I told the stylist what was happening and she took me to the sink and started using alcohol sanitizer to get all the dye off my skin (she said she didn't like the smell of the other product they use to get hair color off the skin)I went to the bathroom and was mortified to find my forehead and neck black from the hair color. I looked at my chest area and the dye had gotten on my bra. I tried my best to get the dye off my skin. The stylist offered to allow someone else to finish my hair. When I got in the other stylist chair she said she had an 2 appointments arriving in 30 minutes and can only comb out my hair and sit me under the dryer but I would have to come back 2-3 hours later or the next day to blow out my hair and style itI didn't have time to wait an additional 2-3 hours since I had already been there 2 hours.I had to leave the salon with my hair completely wet and undone. The manager offered to give me 20% off of the color.I was so upset that she would even expect me to pay for such a horrible experience. I suggested that I may need to seek legal advice because this didn't seem fair. She immediately said well I can't talk to you anymoreI left the salon with damp hair and dyed skin.I strongly recommend to avoid this place!Service: Hair coloring

I was given a white stylist I am black. I had no problem with this because I asked her if she did black hair and she replied Of course. The job was horrible. I paid 35 for a "deep conditioning" in addition to the 65 for styling and she didn't even sit me under the dryer with a plastic cap. She sprayed some warm conditioner on my hair in the shampoo bowl. She left me sitting in the shampoo bowl for 15 mins without a cap or anything. This would have been OK I guess, but she then shampooed it out! My hair felt so dry after she was done with it, I don't even know why I paid for the deep conditioning. She attempted to blow-dry my hair. I had scheduled for a roller set. When I asked about this she said 'My fingers don't work well enough to do a roller set." The blow out was horrible then she did a flatiron. At the end I asked her about large pieces of hair that was sticking out and she would say oh and curl them. I was not happy but I paid my bill and even left her a meager tip. If you go in I would suggest asking for someone other than Jennifer because she doesn't have fingers that are flexible enough for a roller set, deep conditioning, or ironworks. After she was done she just kept repeating you need to get a cut because your ends are really bad. ( Well I definitely don't trust you to do it)You will just waste your hard earned money and leave dissatisfied. Unfortunately, because of my experience with Jennifer I will not go back to this salon and I recommend you save your money as well, unless you know one of the stylist personally.

I initially came here in October and saw Andresina. She did great with my hair, was super friendly and professional. She was flexible with timing as well. I loved the color and it lasted about 2 months before needing a refresh (with proper at home care and conditioning). She provided a trim but was able to keep my length at the time. When booking for a refresh, Andresina was not available and she booked me with TJ (Tiffany) on New Year's Eve. TJ did a fantastic job on my color, wash, and cut. She was very friendly and I loved being able to speak with her. She took before and afters of my big chop and air dropped them to me so I would have them also. While I was nervous to go to a different stylist, Andresina recommended me to someone I would love and she was not wrong! This color is vibrant and my hair feels amazing. The next comments are about the salon pricing and nothing to do with the level of service I received from the stylists. As a salon, they charge per service so each individual service is charged at the salon price. These are laid out by JC Penny Salon and not the stylist themselves. Both stylist were upfront on what the cost would be prior to the service, you as the client just have to ask prior to service. I agree and am comfortable with all pricing set forth except for the cost for the olaplex treatment and gloss/shine. The cost of these services (olaplex wash and condition and using gloss before blow drying) cost more that the products themselves. I kindly refuse these two services as I can do these myself at home with my own personally brought olaplex and gloss (biosilk, etc). I also do not have them use a heating tool to style as my hair is styled with a simply blow out but this is an additional charge, which I think is fair as it takes more time to perform. Otherwise, the remaining items are priced well for the services you are receiving. Also, TIP YOUR STYLIST! :)Services: Haircut

First appointment had hair colored and highlights. I have long hair so I expected the price to be high. Next appointment I got root touch up the price was unreal it cost 283.00 for full color and 300.00 for root touch up it didn’t make sense to me. It wasn’t even a good job do not recommend Liz or JCPenney.Service: Hair coloring

this salon is extremely rascist to quote on quote”african americans”. when anyone with so called big afros come in they say there booked. i find that really rude and disrespectful. they almost damaged my hair and i payed 80$ and they said it’s normally 40 but for my “ nappy curls “ it’s $80 i would NOT recommend at all they were pretty rude and made me uncomfortable and awkward nobody should ever have to go thru this.

I wanted honey blonde, gave them a picture for reference and they over toned my hair to where it looked like a ashy light brown and they gaslight me telling me that's what I asked for when it was not. Then they did a CPR to my hair to take out the toner and it was orange so then it had to be toned again to get that brassiness down. Still not what I asked for but luckily it looks okay but definitely will not be getting anymore service done here, getting it fixed at Ulta as soon as my hair heals

Ms. Angie changed my life, she’s professional and absolutely talented. My 15 years locs were causing extreme hair damage. She gave me my first haircut and a relaxer in almost 2 decades, I love it.
