Terrible experience. I tried on a wedding dress that I loved and actually fit me well. When I went to pay for it the cashier asked me where's the tag. I said what tag your prices are posted $6.99 for formal wear. She said but this is priced different because it's a wedding dress. So I said ok. Im getting married this
Week and need the dress. Can you please get a price so I can purchase it
( I wanted to go get dry cleaned right away so it be ready in time) She goes to the back then comes out and says I can't sell you the dress without a price tag. I asked to speak to a manager. Upon speaking to the manager and telling her how happy I was to find a dress that fits and looked beautiful on me, Can you please price it for me. She gave me a bunch of mombo-jombo. N said she has to put it through a whole process for pricing. I said your the manager is there anyway you can help me out I really want to purchase this dress. She said no that not how we operate here. Im like your a thrift store its not that serious. It's a donated item to the store. As this conversation occurs customers in line to pay for their own items observe this and a few told me that she should have priced the dress for me as I walked out of there almost in tears of great disappointment. Another customer said I'm sorry she did that to you dear and I hope you find another dress that you loved as much as that one. I will never set foot in this store again because I feel that manager could have priced the dress and sold it to me . Plus what's the point of posted prices on articles of clothing if your not gonna honor your posted pricing. (wedding dress or not) The dress was in with all the other formal dresses and it was not a dress of such intricate details that would possibly make its price to costly. I would have paid a responsible price for the dress if the manager would have just helped me out.

Overpriced, if you can find a price. Charging outrageous prices on stuff that is donated!

I just moved to Lumberton from Charlotte NC and visited both Fayetteville locations and both were nasty ,overpriced and neither would let me use the restroom. I miss Charlotte and shopping there. .

I’ve always loved Goodwill, however i visited yesterday and so confused about their prices now. Everything is so high. I found a plain grey zip up hoodie in the bins which was supposed to be 1.99. I get to the register and she asks me if it was hanging, I tell her no. So she says well it was supposed to since the zipper & that makes it 5.19??? so confusing & just feels wrong. Also seen a bunch of stained items hanging up & just thought to myself “ someone would be crazy paying $5 for that heavily stained stuff “ smh get it together Goodwill.

I want to give this place a 3 star, but items are just way overpriced for a thrift store. There was a large stack of maybe 100 homemade baby cloths (more outside of the picture) that were being sold for 99 cents a piece! Why?!

Donating was easy but probably won’t be donate here again because the employee working was very obviously staring at my chest and made me feel very uncomfortable in the short interaction we had.

I’ve had previous experiences with this store and never had an encounter like I just had. While I have never shopped here, I routinely donate clothes and household items that are no longer needed within my home. Usually I am greeted with someone who is respectful and there to ensure everything I am donating is able to be accepted.Today I was “greeted” by a rude, impatient individual who made me never want to donate here again. Usually they allow me to roll the cart outside to unload my car - today this man grabbed the cart from me and told me “no - you can’t take this” in a matter of fact tone. After I went back outside he went back and forth with me that they couldn’t take Christmas trees when I was trying to donate a Christmas wreath (decor). After I was met with a “Yeah, whatever man” I decided to gather my donations and get back in my car.Shannon the manager was very apologetic for his behavior but I can’t imagine myself going back here. Especially if I am going to have to chance HIM being the one accepting the donations. If you don’t like your job, find another one… there is no reason to be rude to people who are donating their own goods for a good cause.

Goodwill is a great concept thrift store, used and sometimes new items are donated and sold back to the public. The local stores are clean and for the most part organized. Customer service is hit and miss. Services provided is adequate but could be improved. Prices have increased and some items are over priced causing a slight head turn when you look at posted items or pick up individual items that are marked. I hear a lot of comparison to Department stores, other retail stores , and Goodwill prices. Complaints are Goodwill prices can sometimes reflect more than what you may pay at some of the other retail stores, Due to these stores offer sale and clearance items. You also now have to provide your own bags as well to put purchased merchandise in. When checking out you will also be asked if you want to round up your total amount to donate to their food bank. You don't have to do it it's just an option they give. It can sometimes feel like less of a bargain shopping experience when you shop here but If you shop consciously with the understanding that this is an actual thrift store and use your phone to Google items to make sure you not overpaying for used merchandise you should find good deals. With that said of the two locations in Fayetteville this seems to provide a better selection of merchandise. There is a no return policy as well so test your appliances and carefully inspect your merchandise.

Dropped off a donation of gently used clothes and shoes in a black trash bag and it was a quick and speedy process! We were greeted kindly and it was a nice in-and-out.

I keep trying with them and am disappointed every time.I’ve always been an avid shopper at Goodwills in Arizona (where I’m from), and believe in donating for people like me to find use of good stuff that just isn’t needed anymore.I’ve found that the Goodwills in NC are just no good. All of them are unorganized, shady, shabby, and the people are overworked. The ones in AZ are just as credible as your local Kohl’s or any other retail store. But out here, they’re definitely the desperate place to be, which is unfortunate. On top of that, every time I come to donate, the people complain. They don’t want the clothes if they have too much of a particular category; they don’t want loose toys (in AZ, they have a whole kids section with loose toys that the kids can choose and bag and they charge by the bag); they don’t want books in boxes because it’s heavy, but they don’t want them in bags either. There’s usually no one there to help you whenever I go, and if there is, they discourage most of the things you’re trying to donate to make their job easier. But, that’s taking away the opportunity for the store to make more money so they can better fund community outreach, employees, and the business as a whole. It’s honestly ridiculous.
