We ordered a pole barn kit. No issues during the order and delivery process. Punctual and communicated well. The metal trusses that were delivered were still wet fresh paint. The wood also had a lot of black mold. While putting it together we discovered we were short material. When I called BDC they told us they would have their supplier check their camera footage to confirm if the materials were missed. It was decided all material was accounted for and we were required to not only drive back to BDC (we payed for delivery because we live 1.5 hours away) but pay for the material a second time. I don't know what happened but I know we never received it. While in line the person behind us had the same issue of being shorted material. If you order from BDC make sure you take inventory of everything received.

Be sure to pick your own materials because if they do it for you you’ll get a lot of rejected materials.

Building supply store that sells seconds, reject and otherwise non-grade lumber and other building materials. You may not want to build your primary residence with these materials, but we have built a pole barn and finished the inside, starting a shed and had a fence installed. For projects where perfection isn't crucial, this stuff fits the bill. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable about what they stock, and will give advice when needed. Also, their stock is inside a lumberyard that you can drive in and load your vehicle with your cache.

They are always so professional & personable. We've been there several times & we live in Chesapeake. We've gotten lumber & metal roofing for our shed. Several other trips for things we forget. We just ordered more metal roofing for our cooking area of our deck.I'll keep going back!

Be cognizant of your board lengths and what you are being charged. Purchased boards which they charge by the foot. Paid for 16 ft boards, got home only ft 14ft. Charged my wife for 16 foot boards and measured them and they were 13ft. Talked to a manger and they corrected the mistake but just keep an eye on it.

Heard about this type of store on This Old House. Found it very organized and stocked. Today we bought the items to set up out cattle gates and blocked in garden. They load everything for you in your truck. Plenty of staff to point you to what you are looking for. We will go back again for the next project.

Gentlemen that helped us, he was very helpful he took the time to sit with us, answer all our guestions, witch is very hard to find anymore somethings we just need a real person, computers just aren't the answer for everything
