We have been going to Southpoint for many years with 6 dogs. Dr Doyle and Dr Lapham are wonderful with the dogs and with talking us through every step of many issues. The staff is wonderful!

We have gone to Southpoint Animal Hospital with our new puppy and are very happy with them. The staff seems to love our crazy boxer and he’s excited to drop by to visit.

The entire team - Both clinical & the front desk - everyone is caring and treat us like extended family! They love our babies so much & We are truly lucky to have them in our lives.

Until now, I’ve been very happy with this practice when I’ve taken my cat for exams, shots, and nail clipping.
That was not the case when I took my cat to get his nails cut recently. It typically takes 10-15 min from the time we get into the treatment room. The techs take the time to greet my cat, give him time to get settled, and distract him with treats if needed. This time, the tech (one I had not seen before) asked me if my cat had gotten gabapentin, to which I said no (sometimes he does, sometimes not). She replied that they do not always do well without it at the vet, grabbed the carrier, said she would be back when finished, and whisked him off. Did not so much as look at him, ask his name, demonstrate any interest, or give me a chance to ask if I could accompany them. She was back in literally five minutes (I checked my watch because it was so fast) and said they had not been able to do all the nails because he “wasn’t having it”. Given the minimal amount of time it took, and how little interest she demonstrated, I wasn't surprised.
I really hope this was a one-off experience. I didn't leave with my usual good feeling that my pet had been well cared for.

Every time I visited this hospital, the staff were very likable and greeted us with a smile. Bentley loves his doctor and nurses that treated him treats. I won’t hesitate to recommend the hospital to friends.

I called their office because my dog had a breathing problem, and they created an appointment in the same day. Doctor and assistants were very nice, and treated my dog very well. The dog was medicated along with doctor’s diagnosis, and recovered immediately. This animal hospital is great!

Dr. Hattingh is wonderful. She lays out all the options and does her best to tailor treatments based of your pets needs and your personal values. She doesn’t rush through the appointment or feel as if she’s just trying to go to the next. She genuinely cares about why you are there. Follow-up care with her and the staff have been exceptional. I can’t recommend her and them enough.

Everyone ar Southpoint Animal hospital is very friendly and helpful and they took great care of my dog, even helping her into my car after her dental surgery.
I would highly recommend this hospital for any veterinary needs.
