My family and I couldn't be more thankful for the Ronald McDonald House. From the staff, to the volunteers who make meals. Top notch people. Highly recommended.

For starters I've never even heard of this place until I found myself out of town having my first son at Duke hospital in Durham NC... After complications with his heart at birth I was deeply saddened by the thought of not being by his side every single day until he is well enough to come home I mean honestly I can feel the tears building up with just the thought of not being able to support him at such a trying time but instead of crying I can truly say that the RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE has been wonderful for providing a private room for my wife and I, as well as a shuttle back and forth to the hospital every day of the week including weekends to be by our son's side, a private bathroom, daily catered meals, free laundry machines, I mean the list just goes on and on but most importantly the staff there is from my understanding mostly all volunteers and they truly go above and beyond to help with anything you need to be comfortable without fully knowing your situation but at the same time knowing everyone here is facing some sort of situation I take my hat off to this place as I am overwhelmed with gratitude and as stated in the beginning I never even heard of this place until I was in need and with that being said consider me a lifetime donor because I can only imagine how many they've helped before us and the many people that will surely need this place moving forward... May GOD continue to bless this place and those in need of such a place I would definitely recommend the RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE...

I can't say enough about how much good RMH does... I've given my spare change here and there over the years, but I assure you that I will be giving much more. Volunteers come in to cook meals for the families, the people are very kind.

It's hard to leave a realistic review no it's not, we are here because of my daughter and we get to stay here because of the fact that she's in intensive care so it's really not, well I'll just tell you about it. You don't have to pay for anything here. If you are in if your kid is an intensive care you can stay here as long as they are. For free. The only thing that I saw was a 12 oz drink machine and they were on sale for a quarter and that was a deal they had with the Coca-Cola people, and then she actually gave me four quarters and said, your first four are on me. Almost made me cry.

My son has ITP we had to go to the emergency room on a Sunday and they took us in an ambulance straight to Duke and we end up having to stay there for 4 days and two of the days we were released from the hospital and live 2 hours away and can't afford to drive back and forth we have one vehicle and six kids and they let me and my son stay so he could get his treatment he needed they have been such a blessing everyone is super nice and friendly dinner has been awesome every night and their snacks have been amazing too I said and talked to the night shift lady (Mrs. Sherry) for over an hour and could have talked to her all day she was so amazing I wish all my kids can meet her but my family is so thankful for everything they did for us maybe one day we'll be able to repay the favorConrad Sadler age 13 ITP WORRIER andMom Misty Pawlowski

This place is amazing. Since my daughter began seeing the transplant team at Duke, we’ve stayed here several times. The kindness and compassion of others is shown here constantly. Having a safe and germ free place to stay after our infant had her liver transplant has been invaluable to us. Thank you for all you do, RMHD.
