Friendly staff, interesting stuff, and good prices. A couple times I've been by, I've picked up some high-end designer stuff. Like all thrift stores, a couple times I've been by and found nothing. Park in the Food Lion lot by the car repair shops.

I try to hit this place at least once a month. It is located in an old house. There is a driveway that takes you to the parking lot that sits behind the house. I've never been there when it's been crowded but there seems to be ample parking. You can't go in through the back of the house so you need to walk down the driveway and come around the front. They display items on the front lawn and porch so I usually check those areas first. Inside it is very cramped but I've found some treasures so bring your patience. It best to move slowly so as not to miss anything (or knock anything over). I tend to lean towards the vintage dishes or bowls but they also have clothes, books, jewelry, hats...just about anything you can think of. Everything I picked up was properly tagged with a short description and the price. On Saturdays they open the coffee bar in the back however, I have not personally purchased any. If you are crafty/artsy then you need to stop by this place. They have fabric, buttons, bottle caps, yarn, old sewing patterns and other odds and ends. They also offer classes on a regular basis. I'm dying to take the one on how to rewire a lamp!

I wanted to love it, but in the end, it just wasn't up to snuff. I stopped in tonight as I closed out a trip to about 8 thrift stores in the area while here on vacation. The decorations outside promised cool stuff, and some of the locally made "green" products were neat. However the rest of the house wasn't. Items like CD's were priced at $3-5 a piece, those are thrift store prices. Other items were more fairly priced. Store was only open for three hours, yet they were cooking dinner in a microwave that had the smells permeating the entire house, and the woman that was in there was drinking (tea maybe) directly from a gallon jug instead of out a cup or glass. Heck I do that sometimes are home, but never at work, especially when I used to work retail. Maybe I just caught them on a bad day. I'd be open to checking them out again sometime.

Quirky little upcycling shop with quirky hours! If you happen to be by when it's open, it's worth poking around inside - you may just find a treasure! I was seriously mulling over a chicken-shaped wicker basket... It looks like they also hold some community events/upcycling classes - just find the latest announcements posted on a clipboard near the front door!

Like I told my girlfriend, it's the place you go when you need to find a random orange pig with gold wings ( which I saw on their lawn once - when I went back it was gone...dangit). You have to be willing to dig a little and move around in a confined space since the place is small, but it is packed with a lot of cool stuff. I encourage folks to move in and move slow because there is stuff everywhere and it is all for sale. Beyond the wares, they also offer courses. I've been in twice now and the first time happened upon a build your own terrarium course and the second was how to raise backyard chickens. This is another Durham hidden gem. I highly recommend folks to support this business. On a side note, support this business on Friday and Saturday - it's run by volunteers so it's not open frequently, but worth the wait.
