Be very cautious if you are consigning. Review the contract carefully and Memorize it, especially if you have several items to keep track of. The owner is extremely defensive if you have any questions and there is limited transparency. I regret ever doing business here.

The owner Libby is extremely unpleasant to deal with. My husband & I consigned a few items with her and she has been very difficult to communicate with and straight up rude when she does eventually respond. First she still hadn't sent our email listing sheet weeks after we dropped our items off and then proceeded to get annoyed that we kept asking for it.
Then one of our items sold at the store and the check we received was for the incorrect amount, so of course we emailed her to question it. We weren't hearing back, so we followed up a couple times. She responded FIFTEEN days later and acted like we were crazy/bothersome for our inquiries and then gaslit us by saying it wasn't a big deal and they would have caught the mistake anyway when the account was reconciled (doubtful).
We'll never consign or shop there again because I don't patronize business owners who don't understand customer service, or even basic human decency for that matter. There are plenty of consignment shops in the Triangle area - take your items and/or money somewhere with a more deserving owner.
Libby will probably respond to this and try to spin the story in her favor (as I see she's done in response to other negative reviews), but I encourage you to read all the accounts of her rudeness from plenty of customers and judge for yourself.

Highly recommend! This is the nicest consignment shop in the Durham / Chapel Hill area by far. The quality of the items, thoughtful layout of the store and excellent service make this your best bet for high quality furniture, rugs and finishing touches.

I’m leaving a two star rating due to bad customer service. We purchased a desk from the discount section and the cashier who checked us out acted like it was an inconvenience that we had opted to load the desk into our vehicle. They acted extremely annoyed that we needed to take measurements and complained that we were taking away from their workers time. It is unclear to me why they treated us so poorly.

Lovely store--unspeakably RUDE, even cruel (!) staff ( one of owners?) We were in a few weeks ago. We moved here 6 mos ago from 1 of largest cities in the US.. In fact my husband was raised in Manhattan-- so this isn't a "non-Soutgerners are rude" tale.My husbandi is an incredibly sweet, gentle, polite man. He takes a diuretic--as do many older people--which means he needs to "go" frequently and urgently. The woman in there must be in her 60s, so she should know this. We drove a few miles to get to the store, he walked in and nicely asked if there was a restroom he might use?"No!"He was surprised as it's a v large space-and he REALLY had to go!'s a v. large space. But he just said '"er, is there somewhere nearby?"" There's a restaurant" ( and she is from NYC as the accent showed )It's a long building with multiple businessrs--none restaurants --and lots of pkg on either side... the buildings "next door" are a dair walk.Her reply? "I'm sure yiu can figure it out,"WHAAT?I see my 72-yr old husband in the middle of the parking lot on a 100F afternoon in August, heading hor a restaurant many yards away--it's sun--no idea if it's open. It doesn't share the pkg lot so difficult--perhaps impossible to walk to ...when he's about to wet himself. Got the car and picked him up and left.WHAT kind of unfeeling, heartless monster would do this?! No empathy, not even basic humanity. FOR SHAME!We still shake our heads and talk about it.we aren't the "non-Southerners are rude"

I have been shopping at Once and Again since they opened and way before Libby took it over!!!! I have read some of the reviews and she called 811 on someone!!! Haha who does she think she is? I gave her some constructive criticism one time and she had a fit. She doesn’t like to be called out on something. And I know I was right. She promised to get some items from me and never did. Unbelievable and rude. I have talked to a lot of people about her and they don’t like her either!!!!! Some of these people used to work for her. RUDE. Do not buy from her. I also took some lamps and never did see them in the store!!!!! Never got money for them. All that was on my check stubs was clothing and jewelry. Don’t trust her…..

Excellent one of a kind experience with this business. Highly recommend for buying or consigning of unwanted high quality furniture and home decor. You owe it to yourself the opportunity to go in and browse the offerings in store.
