I have been incredibly dissatisfied with my experience with Liberty Medical Specialties over and over again to where I feel I am backed into a corner and want to share my experience. I had to go through them to get my CPAP and supplies. 3 months in - I needed to order my first round of replacement supplies and it was such a painful process that took MULTIPLE phone calls and wasted so much of my time. The mask set they gave me (brand new) with my machine only 3 months ago was suddenly "discontinued" so I couldn't order a new one and they refused to send me a fit-pack so I could find an alternate that worked. So as a new CPAP user, I got used to the one they provided me with and suddenly I have to go with a different one all over again. 3 times I spoke with someone and they said "I will look into this and call you back" and I never got a call back. When I would take it upon myself to reach out again - I would get a completely different answer and be pushed off to a "return call" again. Finally, when someone actually found me a mask that would work, it just so happened this was days after my insurance annual renewal so suddenly I was having to pay out-of-pocket for the supplies because my deductible renewed. This felt VERY intentional as if I was dragged on and on so that they would get to my renewal date and charge me full price. I ended up ordering supplies for SO much cheaper online from a different CPAP company altogether. I will NOT be ordering supplies through Liberty again. That's not all! I was told once everything was processed with my insurance that I would expect a monthly payment charge for the machine itself. I looked at my bank account and see I was charged on April 19th, May 22nd and then suddenly charged AGAIN on June 7th. When I called to get clarification on my billing dates I was essentially told "we just bill once insurance processes it but we have no control" so telling me I am just going to be randomly charged $75.00 with absolutely no schedule and no consistency? That is just horrible business practices. I don't care how long "processing" takes, I have a hard time believing there is no way to control when you bill someone. I am incredibly frustrated but forced to work with them because BCBS determines the company. IF you have a choice - do NOT go with them.

Alicia, Ariel and Brandon were truly outstanding! They went above and beyond to get my dad's oxygen supplies in a timely and friendly manner. I can't recommend them enough. Thank you!!

I ordered a breast pump through my insurance with Liberty Medical Supplies. They made it super easy, no long phone calls. Kayla Dowless handled my account and was very friendly and competent.

I waited over a month for supplies. After 5 calls and 2 emails I gave up, called Family Medical Supply located down the street and had what I needed in less than a week. I'm not surprised this company has such a low rating...

Ryan and the amazing team at Liberty Medical Specialties performed what I have to believe is nothing short of "magic"!
They coordinated the shipment of the power chair and worked through the issues surrounding COVID-19 compliance (both NC state compliance and other facility specific compliance rules) to fit the device to my 96 year old mother-in-law and provide her with support so she was comfortable with the controls and the ways this new chair was different from the one it replaced.
Harvey and Ryan and the team at Liberty went above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction with the device and they deserve each and every one of the five stars I am able to offer as their rating!
So thank you very much Ryan, thank you Harvey! You have proved that even during a global pandemic Liberty Medical Specialties are the place to get the healthcare equipment needed to ensure the safety and quality of life for my parents.
Regards, Paul & Kim Sloboda

The company came to pick up my disability scooter. After 6 monts of telling me they couldn't locate it. They delivered back to me a BROKEN one
I called the company where I got my disability scooter for repair. They were nice enough to make arrangements to come pick it up from my home. However I could not be there so I asked them to pick it up from my sisters shed (Who lives only around the corner). They had no problem doing this.
Fast forward=== Weeks go by and I hear nothing from them. I call a few times, and they have no idea where this thing is. They remember picking it up, they have all the information serial numbers etc. Lots more time and they still can't find it. About 3 monts pass and they finally locate it in their wearhouse somewhere. They now deliver me a scooter that is not mine, is not repaired, and in fact is broken.
Short end of a long story is they were supposed to pick up a 2 year old PRIDE scooter to which they had the serial #s and all. When they finally traced the serial numbers from the broken scooter they delivered we found out they picked up my sisters OLD METTIC by mistake.
I had no reason to look in her shed, so had no idea they picked up the wrong one. ONLY when they gave me the name that matched the serial number did I put things together.
Well after having it in their wearhouse for months they admitted it was their fault, appoligized and promised to send me a brand new scooter. 3 weeks later I hear nothing and call to ask what is going on. NOW I am told they changed their minds. No new scooter, and too bad that they destroyed my sisters that THEY took by mistake.
All this time I was renting scooters. NEVER asked them for a refund.
I tried to resolve this nicely with them. I offered just fix what you broke. Replace the chair like you promised. Just give me something safe. NOTHING!! The final answer from them wes TOO BAD

We had to use this company because they were the only one in-network in our area who could provide the equipment needed.
- The delivery man (initials HK) was rude and brusque. He shoved forms in my face and didn't take the time to explain how to set up or use the equipment. He also tracked water and mud all over our house and was exasperated when I asked him to take his boots off.
- Later on, when I reviewed the forms he made me sign in a rush, I saw that he had initialed all these boxes indicating that he assessed our home for trip hazards, taught us how to use the machine, confirmed I understood how to use it, etc. All things he never did: Unprofessional and DISHONEST.
- The machine we rented from them broke on day 2. The company has NO back-ups. How is this a good business practice? Critical equipment for your customers to help them in their post-op recovery and you have a single unit?
Seriously upset that we were forced to go with this company. Stay FAR FAR away.

Update: the owner of this business (see his resy below) never got in touch with me or my wife. Not unexpected seeing how my previous encounter went. I wanted to update this review to reflect that and again warn everyone to stay away from this company. I would give 0 stars if Google would let me.

Horrible experience. 1 month later no equipment provided and they told us to go with another equipment. The equipment they did provide is old and is not functional. Now we have to find another medical supply company. Do not use this company.

During the past 2-3 years I've needed to visit Liberty Medical Supply on Garrett Road in Durham 3 times for specialty medical supplies. The first visit was for my partner and the most recent visits were for me. Each time I've been there the staff, especially David, Tammy and the front desk lady whose name I can't remember, have been super nice and very helpful. I've seen the negative reviews and since my experiences have been so great I wanted to share them because I've had nothing less than excellent customer service. Thanks to everyone at Liberty Medical Supply in Durham because your help and kindness is appreciated.

I find it really hard to believe that this is the only place bcbs allows people to go to get a breast pump in Raleigh area. I was charged $75 and only given a bill for $47. I called to find out about the difference. It was their "fee" but that is no where on the receipt. I called back to get an email for my insurance company. They said they would send. I have not gotten anything. The person working there is very nice and helpful however this did not seem like a legitimate fee. The piece of equipment is already really expensive what gets billed to my insurance.

I am a current liberty customer and if your life depends on oxygen, I encourage you to RUN TO ANOTHER COMPANY QUICK!!!!! The people at Liberty are the least compassionate people I've ever had the unfortunate pleasure to meet. They provided me with a faulty concentrator since October 2015, and because the machine has never worked properly I have winded up in the hospital twice. When I try to get resolution instead of them being apologetic and offering to replace the concentrator they would rather give me the runaround and say they'll just pick up the machine to get rid of me not solve the problem. I wish I could give no stars at all. I'm not posting this review because I'm angry, I'm posting it because I wish someone would've warned me about this company. When your health depends on equipment, please don't put your life in Liberty's hands.
