“They have a nice selection of home decor items. The clearance prices are nice but some of the regular prices items are ... Well... Pricey. They have a wide selection of items to choose from and if you are a smart shopper you can score some good buys on some nice stuff.”
“Nomadic Trading Company has always been one of my favorite stops when I'm around the DIY (warehouse) district. With an eclectic collection of household furniture and decorations from Europe (primarily Hungry and Turkey), Mexico and even Africa (Morocco), they are an incredibly authentic and unique spot in downtown Durham. The hours vary, as the owners travel to multiple trade shows all over the US, but you can find them open on most weekends. The shop reminds me of a less manicured West Elm, with incredible benches, pillows, runs, hanging lights and an assortment of jugs, bottles and baskets. You'll feel like you're entering the Turkish bazaar and I highly recommend trying your hand at negotiations here. Steep prices are really the only downside, but they DO negotiate on items and constantly have sales as they're always trying to move inventory. The space has expanded in the past year into the warehouse parallel to their original space, but the actualy space needs some work, don't be surprised if you can some water droplets leaking on you from (hopefully) the ceiling. Definitely worth a stop if you appreciate beautifully crafted pieces or want a truly original piece in your home.”

“This location has stellar customer service! I visited on Saturday 5/10/25 to try and get a replacement for a lost earring. The earrings were highly sentimental to me since my fiancé had customized them with each detail having symbolic meaning personal to us. So when I realized I lost one and found that the style was no longer available online, I decided to visit in person to see if anything could be done. The sales associate that assisted me was so caring and truly went above and beyond to help. She checked through all of the stores stock and was able to find the correct stones but not the setting. She called another location and was able to secure the desired setting/frame, but that store didn't have the correct stones. This amazing associate made arrangements so that the stones from the Southpoint location could be taken to the North Hills location to be mounted into the correct frames. Myself and my earrings are whole again. I hope the associate that helped me sees this because I cannot thank you enough or explain how much this act of kindness meant to me. I think my fiancé will continue to buy Kendra Scott items for each anniversary after this experience!”

“We were at Southpoint Mall yesterday after traveling from Virginia to have my daughter seen by her doctor at Duke. We used to live in the area and my daughters miss Urban Outfitters so we always stop in when we travel to Durham. While we were shopping a storm was brewing outside, we checked out and went to leave the store. While debating whether to try to make it to the car before the rain or go back into the store, the biggest bolt of lightning struck what seemed like feet away from us. (Now that I’m calmed down and less terrified, I’m thinking it struck the metal rod sticking out of the Cheesecake Factory. ?) We ran back into UO like lunatics. My 8 year old was absolutely terrified, shaking, and hyperventilating. I wish I had gotten her name but a blonde employee with the coolest outfit and the kindest smile came over and asked if my daughter wanted a cup of water to calm down. She checked on us often during the hour we were waiting for the storm to pass and her kindness was so genuine and appreciated. I made mad dash to our car once the rain lightened up and my girls ran to the car so I didn’t have a chance to thank her. Urban Outfitters is our favorite store and we especially love the one at Southpoint. If you are ever going to get nearly fried by a lightning bolt, UO at Southpoint is the place to do it. To the pretty blonde with the warm smile and excellent fashion sense, thank you for your kindness yesterday.”
“I went to Joann to find a thread to fix a hole in my teenager's favorite t-shirt. The cashier, an elderly woman, was super sweet. She didn't mind initially canceling the order and then re-ringing it, and she gave me her honest opinion on how to best repair the t-shirt.”
“When I am in the area of a Ross, I try to visit. I never know in advance what gems I might find. Occasionally, the line is a deterrent. I always check it when I come on the door.
Service was great although the wait was a bit long, maybe 15 minutes. No issues with those waiting in line. Checkout was smooth.”
