This store has many expired items on the shelves. I brought this complaint to the employee at the customer service desk back in November. It’s now February.Check expiration dates before purchasing food.

I was an employee for food lion once back when I first graduated and second time was recently my experience as a employee was very insulting! This is a touchy subject for some ppl but I was the victim of racialFavortism I was told by my grocery manager that I was going to be promoted to head stock! Well he quit and then instead of promoting me they brought in somebody from another store and gave him the job. He was a black American and had no more experience than I had if not less I was made full time and never scheduled more than 25 hrs and my store manager would lie about how she had changed my Schedule I asked her why was I never informed of this change in my schedule. In the department meeting in the meeting she even said sorry to pick on you so much Barry but it's just an example. Food lion is another greedy corporation! Most stores are not clean and organize they never have sugar or milk at the end of the night. I just had the most horrible experience. I had bosses whoWould talk about me behind my back but never say anything directly to me! I just think foodlion on chapel Hill St in Durham should be closed. I mean you can't even walk intoThe store without being asked for money from all unfortunate ppl who are standing outside asking for money. In the end imGlad that it happen that way because i quit and now I work at a job I live so it work it out great in the end. Still I had to explain to m uh y manager that with the no et I make here I can't possibly make a living I would have had to live on the streets!

I’m a regular shopper as in at least once per week. I enjoy using the self check out but the personnel seems to not be focused on the customers as they are checking out. I have an issue scanning cut fruit almost every time and can continue to stand in the same place with no intervention. Also, smoking personnel have a spot where they smoke that is close to the entrance by the check out area; smoke billows in the constantly opening door exposing us nonsmokers to the stench. Please retrain your customer service associates to be more vigilant around the self check out area and designate a smokers circle away from the front entrance.Thank you

I absolutely love the food lion standard. One 9f the cleanest locations I've seen. Very organized and fully stocked. Sales are also always going on. Never a disappointment.

It has taken me 2+ yrs in the Durham/Raleigh area to FIND out about Food Lion! I did not realise how diverse a range of food & drink( of course!!) they hold at extremely good prices!:mainly lower than the , possibly, more recognised Supermarkets! I also found out that Food Lion is OLDER than these other Supermarkets!! ergo more time TO get better. I will try to expand on the range of goods offered later on but I MUST recognise the Friendliness of all the Staff I met!! 5 out of 5 Stars!! So far! I have never been disappointed and in fact found several, much loved, food items not held in the "bigger? Supermarkets: try Food Lion out for yourself- you will become, as with me, a constant customer JohnH

I stop by there because it’s convenient but it’s getting worse and worse every time I stop by. Tonight was the last straw with the poor management and customer service skills. See ya I will look somewhere else.

This food lion has gone extremely downhill recently. I get everyone is short staffed, I get that completely. This for the most part can be helped though. There are NEVER any carts in the cart area, the carts i find are full of trash. Trash all in the parking area as well. The shelves have not been fully stocked. I enjoy eating Ramen for lunch at work. I swear they are always 100% out of ramen...I get there is increased demand. A year later you would think the company would start ordering EXTRA. This past month they are just out of everything...like distilled water 2 weeks ago? Why? It's snowing this weekend but things have been this way for 2 years. Lines have been extremely long the past few months. Only 3 lines are open now as i write this. The cashier I have is elderly and VERY slow. I have had her several times now. Last complaint; LINE ORDER. I've got in two fights this month about the lines here. Self check out has 2 sides, and 2 lines (one for each side) there are stickers on the ground for this. For whatever reason, customers think they line up on the right and right side ONLY and think that one line is for all 4 self check outs. This is very wrong because;ISLE 9 HAS 2 ROWS OF FLOOR STICKERS THAT SAY "WAIT HERE" one for self check out, one for check out # 5.Suggestion; *** put a sign up on the self check out that says form 2 lines, or remove the floor stickers SO its clearly showing u form 1 line for all 4 check outs. It will prevent a bunch of ghetto out burst about cutting in line.
