This is the WORST bank I've ever used. We have had an account with them for 4+ years and they "couldn't cash a check, because i no longer work at DUKE". MAKE IT MAKE SENSE! If i have an account there why would i need to work at DUKE? They have the worst customer service(management and loan employees),front desk is okay. I could go on, but won't. Do your self a favor and find a different bank, because this one is horrible.

Just stopped in to get something notarized and the lady at the front desk is a notary and was able to do us right away. No wait! ?

So apparently after speaking to a representative recently I found that when you freeze your card, unlike another non-creditunion financial institution, your credit card cannot be used for 24 hours when you talk to them they say they have to put the funds or something back into the credit card account or something like that I'm not sure but all I know is it is the most arduous task to freeze your card and protect your funds like you would at a non-creditunion financial institution that I deal with there I can freeze and unfreeze my card any number of times during the day as far as I know and can unfreeze it and instantly start using it again I don't have to wait 24 hours and. They probably know who I am by this post so fix the problem for me to stay on board with your institution I like it it's a sad thing to find out this way.

I have used this credit union for more than 30 years, and used it to set up secondary accounts for my mother or children, to help them learn to manage money. They are not flashy, but very competent and straightforward, and can provide a good place to start a new account, manage a consumer loan, and other banking needs. I appreciate that their staff is often consistent, well trained, and able to spend time to explain things. Glad we have this option in our community! Even though I use another bank for my business (DFCU does not handle business accounts) I have always kept this account open and value the local accessibility, and convenient use options.

Worst bank ever. Not just because of this issue, but many issues. They did not do the paperwork correct on the loans, which forced us to be on the loans together and it can't corrected. We almost lost our home because it took them 5 weeks to do paperwork that should've only took a few days at most. Allowed purchase that appear to be fraud come through from other countries , but McDonalds in my area denied. I signed up with them because I was an employee of Duke at the time. I have two auto and home loan with them. I had a really bad flood in my home, deposited the check from the insurance company. When it came time to pay the contractor. They would not release the $16,000 to pay them, because I was a month behind on one of my vehicles that was $271 dollars. I informed them that the money is for the home only and that it is illegal to force me to spend the money on anything else. I told them that I would pay the car note, which I had been doing for years, every now and then I will be late a month, but only due to me having less income because of the pandemic. I called and asked for some kind of help like a forbearance. I was told that they are no longer doing that, to turn my cars In. Which are almost paid for, but that's what she came up with. she was very cold and nasty, and seem to enjoy being nasty. I was totally surprised by this most of them are very friendly. I give up my cars, which are almost paid off, so you can resale them and profit twice, and yes I know it is a credit union, but they really made no attempts to work with me.They we're holding all the money not just the $271, the entire $16,000. I made a complaint about her rudeness, which seem to up set her, the next thing I know ,they are auditing my account lol, go ahead you won't find anything fraudulent.

I have banked with DFCU for 16 years. It is the best bank/credit union I have ever used and have move accounts from other, larger banks to DFCU. Those i did not move, I regret.

one word: SHARON! She's the most pleasant, sweet--and funny :) person. I'm talking just about calling them on the phone, folks. Nothing else about Duke CU stuck out for me at all. Never used my card much-stuck funds in, left them there. But calling in and getting Sharon is what I'm raving about-she's a great representative of a not-so-great company.

They lied to me when I opened my account in person. They told me as long as I deposited $100 and kept my balance above $100, they wouldn’t charge me fees. They charged me over $100 in fees over the past several months. When I found out and called them, they told me that there was nothing they could do because the minimum balance needed to avoid fees is $2500. Their own website says it’s $100.Don’t trust them with your money. Read the other reviews and consider using any of the other credit unions in the area. If the other option doesn’t steal from you or fraudulently open accounts in your name, then it’s a better choice than Duke Credit Union.

Duke Credit Union tries their best to discourage clients. They have crazy policies requiring you to have a "draft" and savings account if you intend to take advantage of all the services offered. Website is disorganized and redirects to what looks like a scam site. It's overly complicated to link to external accounts. Average interest rates. No compelling reason to bank here.
