And this is only because I had to put a star. I’ve tried giving this place a chance. Every time I come in it’s not a good experience. Food is almost always outdated. When you speak to a manager about this they get upset and look at you like you did or said something wrong. I reported chips being outdated. And the manager would not even ring me up so I just left. This time I came to pick up a few things for my son. He loves hot pockets. He couldn’t eat them because they were covered in mold smh. I’m done. I feel as if they don’t care about the quality just money. We just threw the rest of them in the trash.totally unacceptable. I would suggest people to stop shopping here.

If you're a carnivore, this is THE place for meat! Meat case is the entire back wall of the store and includes many unusual products and cuts (presumably popular in Latino cooking) that you will not find in any chain grocery, and the prices are good. I visit here once or twice a year for chicken livers, which standard groceries no longer carry, and I usually pick up a couple of other things as well. Clearly focused on serving Latino food tastes, but this is no little tienda; it's a full-size American-style grocery store with most American as well as Latino foodstuffs. Check it out for yourself - just seeing the meats alone are worth a stop!

Great place - really my only complaint is that it’s not clear whether the name is meant to be pronounced “compare” as in, like, considering the differences between two separate objects, or “comparé”, which may or may not be a word in Spanish; my vocabulary in the language is too limited to be sure. A pronounciation guide on the door or (ideally) in large letters below the store name sign would be most appreciated.

Really fresh meats and at affordable prices while everyone else is raising their prices, Compare Foods keeps it reasonable. I go every week now!

They're decent. The carts aren't any good. They have grocery that is hard to come by, like oxtail, fish, and other Southern and Latino type of meats. Room for improvement, but I'd go here for meats that I have a hard time finding elsewhere. Great service too!

I can't get my whole grocery list at this inconspicuous supermarket but I it is irreplaceable for stocking up on key items. Great value for large size spices, including non-ground spices (e.g., coriander and cumin seeds, cloves, cinnamon sticks, etc.), as well as Latin American staples like annatto. Great value for pretty much any legume. I also get my masarepa here and the dish soap that comes in a cake and cleans way better liquid dish soap (axion). You can get a lot of Colombian, Peruvian, and other Latin American products (yuca flour, giant can of milo, avena, choclo, chilis, sofrito, salsa rosada and other condiments, panela, pretty much any Goya product). The people that work here are also very nice and there usually isn't a long line. Check it out! You are going to find something that is a pleasant surprise. And never buy a $6 3oz container of a basic spice at Harris Teeter again!

My first ever visit here, but not my last. The store was clean and well stocked. I could find items here that aren't available at other grocery stores. I love the Badia brand seasonings and Margaret Holmes brand canned vegetables. Compare has all that I use of these brands and more. I love the meat selection. Friendly and helpful employees.
