Had an iffy check in, but Martin was able to help resolve everything super quickly and with great hospitality the next morning. Overall great location and rooms.

If you want to sleep don’t stay here. It’s located right next to an incredibly active train rail. Don’t be surprised to hear a train at 3am blasting its horn.

Stayed here for a work trip. Staff was nice, everything was clean and location was great! First experience at an Aloft.Rooms: Rooms were clean and comfortableWalkability: Good restaurants, Durham Bull stadium, DPAC and ATC Campus all very close. More restaurants and other things still within walking distance.

The room was nice upon first appearance but look a little closer and there's dust in corners and buildup floors in bathroom area. The breakfast was terrible!I ordered the OG, an eight dollar breakfast item. I was informed that none of the vegetables were available so basically I had a sausage and egg on a hamburger bun.My husband order the sausage biscuit which he tossed. This breakfast is not covered as a part of your room expense so you do pay out-of-pocket for overpriced items that were tasteless. Sleeping wasn't pleasant. There wasn't enough covers on the bed which made it difficult to get warm. No bedspread was on the bed just 2 sheets and light very thin comforter. The 3rd floor view from our room was nice as it faced Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Sorry I didn't get photos of breakfast!

I can’t believe this is legally allowed to be classified as a place sold for sleep. There are extremely loud trains that come all hours of the night. I don’t see how anyone is sleeping here. I’m so tired and I can’t wait to go home.

We stop by the bar while waiting for the shows at DPAC. Quiet compared to a lot of the other options.

I recently stayed at Aloft Durham Downtown connected to DPAC for a performance of MJ The Musical, and it was a fantastic experience. The hotel's convenience, being attached to the Durham Performing Arts Center, was a major plus. The cleanliness was commendable, and the small grocery shopping area offered a great selection for meals and snacks. The full bar, well-decorated lobby with billiards and games, added to the enjoyable atmosphere. The second-floor view and pool were highlights, making it a delightful stay. I would enthusiastically choose this hotel again in the future.

Made a reservation on a Tuesday afternoon to check in that Thursday - 2 days later. Woke up on Wednesday morning to a room charge of $400+. They entered my reservation incorrectly and then tried to claim that I reserved the room for Tuesday and decided to not show up. Offered to rebook me for the Thursday night stay that I originally requested, but DIDN’T REFUND the erroneous reservation. Front desk agent was very kind and tried to help, but GM refused to. Now having to file a dispute with my credit card.

Great location for Durham. If going to the DPAC from out of town it is a must. Only issue we had was a lot of mold in the shower. We reported it to the front desk and they would get housekeeping on it.

Was a bit worried after reading a few recent reviews but we had a fabulous stay. No weird smells. Front desk staff were super friendly. Great location. Bed was comfy. Only complaint is no shelf in shower to hold my stuff. And if your noise sensitive there is a train that comes through frequently.

I had a great time here. Eli was a very accommodating front desk agent. I loved the hotel décor and colors. My only grievance is design related. The shower had no storage space for soaps, or bottled shower products, and was without any hooks or racks. The fridge was on the floor, under the bathroom sink, next to the trashcan. Overall, I was comfortable and had a clean room.

Nice enough, bed was comfy. But figuring out the light switch situation was weird. And can high end hotels stop using those loud under window heat/ac units?
