This is by far the best vet clinic in Lake Norman, Charlotte, or even North Carolina. The level of care and concern they have shown our two dogs has been above and beyond any vet we have seen. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate, and attentive to every detail. From the moment we walk in, we feel welcomed and assured that our pets are in the best hands possible. The clinic is clean, well-equipped, and the team genuinely cares about the well-being of our furry family members. We will be customers for life!

I moved to NC after living my entire 25 years in AZ. The only hard part of my move was leaving my long time groomer of my two pups and their vet. I had worked for a rescue for years. So to say my vet & I were close was an understatement. Transferring to north meck I knew I had found their vet clinic the second I stepped in their beautiful welcoming facility. To say I was impressed coming from a small mom/pop vet back home was an understatement. But my review today comes from the love & care I received today after having to put my first pup to sleep after 15 years with him. He wa the most incredible pup and deserved the most dignified passing. Dr blackard helped me work through options & when they failed she was the most compassionate soul walking me through end of life care & giving me clarity on this decision. Unfortunately , she wasn't in today to be the one to help me say goodbye to cowboy. But Dr Renehan was. To say she treated my dog as one of her own is also and understatement. The way she spoke to me , my mom , and my pup walking us though everything and being as sensitive & loving as possible as if cowboy was her own changed my life. I didn't want cowboy to walk into the clinic as he hates being at the vet. They allowed me to do a beautiful peaceful passing out back on their grounds on a picnic table. He never was afraid. I believe in my heart that these two drs do what they do to give dog parents and their pets the most love possible during their hardest moments. Thank you for changing my life today. I can sleep tonight knowing cowboy left this world the way he lived it- peaceful , loving , and dignified.

We love these veterinarians but our 13 year old Border Collie was mis-diagnosed by one doctor who is retiring. Hence after nearly 4 months of unnecessary treatment the diagnosis was changed by another of the team. I firmly believe that if said doctor didn't mis-diagnosed our dog, he would still be alive today. Having to put our beloved, dog down to me was not warranted. The pain, sorrow, agony and the inability to control our loss has pretty much destroyed us .

During what turned out to be one of the hardest days of my life, the team at North Meck Animal Hospital was nothing short of amazing in helping my family navigate such a painful experience. Thank you so much Dr.Shauna for your peaceful and graceful demeanor. You have earned a life long customer.

We have used NMAH for 5 years and always found them to be efficient, caring, and reasonably priced. We recently made the difficult decision to euthanize our elderly golden retriever. Dr. Jones and the entire staff were very compassionate and caring through the entire process. We know our golden boy is enjoying the rainbow bridge and is free of pain now.

Our animals have always received compassionate care from all the doctors. When our Emmy, of 15 years, had to be put down it was done with the utmost care. The doctors really take the time to listen to better help your furry friends the best way possible.

They helped me when my dog was sick. So caring. Even called to see how she was doing days later. I'm definitely going here from now on.

I took my dog Jake here when he got a nasty rip in his leg from being a little clumsy in the woods and they took him in less than 30 minutes and were very gentle with him. They explained everything after his surgery including some funny information about how he did post op and were very kind and friendly. He recovered quickly and with 0 complications at home! Thank you so much for taking care of my fur baby. While there are plenty of animal hospitals closer to home, I will be coming back here if he ever needs care again.

Best Vet on the planet!!! I'm convinced!!! We have been going here for 20+ years and everyone is so wonderful. They've been there for us and our 5 dogs throughout those 20 years. Dr. Kritzinger is amazing, and I always look forward to our visits with him. He's not only great with our dogs, but he also cares to ask about our family as well. I promise, if you are looking for a new Vet or a Vet in general, look no further! :)

An amazing, caring and responsive team! I was pet sitting my sweet little “granddog” Cashew a 3.3 lb maltipoo. He somehow got into a trash bag with ice cream cone wrappers in it… smeared with chocolate. I thought the best thing was to get him to his vet. We raced to the hospital as it was scheduled to open soon. Dr. Schaaf was available and immediately examined him. He treated Cashew with such kindness and professionalism. Thank you Dr. Schaaf and the whole team!

5 stars is not enough - they treated my pup with the sense of urgency that I really needed as a worried pet parent. The staff assuaged my concerns & promptly created a care plan to treat my pet.

My partner and I cannot say enough good things about North Mecklenburg Animal Hospital. The quality of care they provide to our 17 year old cat (Punkin) is exceptional! We've been with NMAH for 15+ years now and we honestly believe one of the reasons why our senior kitty is in such good shape is directly related to the quality care she receives when we visit. The veterinarian we use is Dr. Valerie Lydolph, and she is OUTSTANDING! You can tell Dr. Lydolph (and the rest of the individuals at NMAH) have a real connection with their furry patients and love what they do.

When I got my first bulldog we were always told by the breeder and the bulldog clubs that we need to find a vet who has experience with bulldogs, and that was how we found North Mecklenburg Animal Hospital in Cornelius, NC. They have been wonderful. I had one bulldog, Blossom, that had chronic colitis and Dr. Kritzinger took so much time after hours to research what kind of food she needed to eat and once I put her on that food, and the medication, she never had another flare up! I also have 2 cats and they take such good care of them. My little kitty has just been miserable with some crystals and a stone in her urinary tract and just today, Dr. Lydolph did everything to make sure there was no blockage and that the kitty is not in so much pain. ALL of the doctors at the practice are wonderful and they get to know your pets and listen to your concerns. I have been coming here for 20 years. They are open every day and even have emergency hours during the week. Also when I have to go out of town their seriously is no one else I would trust my very nervous bulldog, Isabella, with! They take my MANY calls when I have to leave her, and sometimes even send me pictures of her if I ask for them, and they make sure she is not terrified. I can't say enough good things about the doctors, the techs and the kennel staff! I do highly recommend this veterinary practice to everyone. Charlotte Foster

Our yellow lab, Salem recently had to have two surgeries completed here. Left TPLO summer of 2021 and right TPLO January 2022. Dr. Kritzinger and the rest of the staff were awesome the entire time. Cannot say enough good things about the experience. Very attentitive to us as nervous pet parents and our sweet girl before, during, and after surgery.
