Rented a car from this facility and it wreaked of cigarette smoke. Went to pick up the kids from school and they got in gagging and asking what the smell was. Left the windows open, sprayed air freshener and it only made it worse. They weren’t exactly friendly at pick up and I read prior reviews where they weren’t accommodating so I knew they would not be change the car for me. Will never risk renting from them again. My guess is someone there is smoking in these cars (maybe while cleaning them) because I have never rented one that smelled like smoke before and this seems to be a consistent complaint for their cars.

I booked my reservation and had a CONFIRMED pick up time of 5:30pm. The listed close time online is 6pm. With work ending at 5pm, I thought 5:30pm would be doable. I get to the location and there is a piece of computer paper taped to the door with a printed message reading "We are closing at 5pm indefinitely. Sorry for the inconvenience"
I had a CONFIRMED RESERVATION. Why would you not call me and tell me that I had to come earlier if you were closing at 5pm?! That would be the DECENT thing to do instead of leaving someone STRANDED. Also, Hertz customer support is a circle of automated prompt. I will NEVER rent from this company ever again. How can you treat customers like this?!

**PLEASE BEWARE!! I was issued a Chevy Trax that had ROACHES!! Yes, you heard me right. I had a cup of coffee in the cup holder, made a quick stop to Wal-Mart, came back out and these suckers were all over my cup??? I immediately went back into Wal-Mart and purchased some RAID AND THOROUGHLY SPRAYED this car. I tried calling the facility and the line just kept ringing...completely disappointed with Hertz Cornelius..Christian, I pray you didn't knowingly rent me a roach infested vehicle

Worst experience and biggest waste of time. Tried to book an EV Kia and confirmed numerous times that a Tesla adapter was included. The car reeked of smoke and no adapter was found. Rather than remedying the situation, we were recommended to use a Tesla Supercharging Station. Anybody who knows anything about EV cars knows that you literally CANT charge Hyundai cars on them. Poor customer service and straight up bad information is being given to customers.

Had a horrible experience, I went to concord location which had their system down, so took a Uber all the way to lake Norman location close to closing time. Only to be given a compact for price for mid-size and was told rudely to sign because it was closing time. I had a horrible traumatic incident with a Kia soul (last rental) and was given this car again as a “midsize” and just want any other midsize at all. I asked many times for another day or another car but was told to sign by the manager because it was late. Now I have to get a my rental swapped somewhere else, and also lost money for Ubers. Wouldn’t recommend this location.

Don't rent from this location. You will make a reservation and show up only to be told they have no cars. Even the manager just shrugged his shoulders and said sorry that's just the way it is. I have been a Hertz customer for years from this location and finally experienced it being run the worst it ever has. They depend on cars coming in same day and have nothing available to honor reservations for even the highest tier Hertz customers. They won't even call you ahead to warn there is a problem with your reservation. I paid more to get a car from Enterprise for my business trip.

Went in to get replacement vehicle for the tutd they gave me that started to leak oil and couldn’t be driven. Management was very rude, told me that I was misinformed, with no intention to solve or help with problem. I have dealt with hertz other locations and never been treated like that, it seems like they relish being able to say no and piss customers off. Needless to say seeing all the bad reviews that hertz does not care still employing bad management
