“Gorgeous stay! From the minute you walk into the beautiful library, it is clear this inn is special. Tastefully decorated and impeccably maintained, The Holly and Ivy is a true gem! Every detail is taken care of….the MOST hospitable owners, comfortable beds, delightful rooms with everything you might need, and a lovely breakfast in the dining room. Every nook provides a comfy spot to relax and the grounds are gorgeous so grabbing a chair on the porch or the lawn with a cup of coffee or glass of wine is truly a treat. From the moment you wake up until you turn in for the night, you feel welcomed and at home in this beautiful old house. We are so happy we found The Holly and Ivy and can’t wait to go back!!Rooms: Gorgeous!!! Each room is impeccably decorated with an eye for style and comfort. Linens are beautiful, beds are comfy, fluffy towels, lotions, and nice toiletries are in the bath. So relaxing!Nearby activities: Newton is walkable or a short drive to Hickory with more shops and restaurants.Safety: House has safety features and entire neighborhood feels secure. We did not think twice about any issues.Walkability: Easy walk into downtown Newton. Nice little wine bar there and some other shops.Food & drinks: Lovely light breakfast provided. The dining room stays stocked with water, juices, snacks to grab, and coffee/tea. Water and other little extras on second floor too.Noteworthy details: Gorgeous decor, plenty of sitting areas that feel welcoming, owners are available with local information and to provide anything you need. Rooms are stocked with nice fresh towels and bed linens and bathrooms are clean and fresh. Every detail is well thought out.”

“I recently stayed at Budget Inn Express with a friend and had a wonderful experience. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful, making sure that we had everything we needed for our stay. The room itself was clean and cozy, with all the necessary amenities such as a comfortable bed, clean linens, and a well-equipped kitchenette. We were also pleasantly surprised by the spacious bathroom with a luxurious shower.”

“The front desk staff was helpful and explained how the breakfast worked as I paid the extra money to get breakfast included. He also advised the best place to park to reach our 1st floor room. The room had enough room for us. I did not like that there were dogs on the same floor that we were on and in the next room. We could hear the little one barking at various times that night and in the morning. The location was great. The ambiance was very welcoming as well. I did not view the whole hotel, but what I saw was very nice. I even told my NC family about this hotel as none of us had ever stayed at a Crowne Plaza before. I am very familiar with IHG hotels and am a rewards member though. I also want to mention that breakfast is not free, but you can pay a little extra to get breakfast. The breakfast area was very nice and the waitress that we had, was lovely. This is a place that I think would make a great are for families to stay in. There are meeting rooms. There are also restaurants nearby like Cracker Barrel. It is in close proximity to the interstate as well.”

“Came here a couple times to visit family members. Front desk friendly. Rooms clean and modernize. Fridge and microwave. Quiet. No loud music nor smell of smoke. No one soliciting. Hot breakfast. Lots of restaurants around and mall strips.”
