My 21 year old daughter has been made to feel unwelcomed both times she has used this location. Today she came in with a tank top, part of a new set she got from her grandmother for Christmas. She was told that she needs to "cover herself up" from the front desk attendant. For a Christian organization, this type of langauge and policy is sexualizing and judgemental. She was told she can read the dress code policy. From now on, she will be driving to Charlotte where people wear much less, but are not shamed for it. She left feel demoralized. How disappointing.

The lap pool only ever has 1 lane open between the hours most people are able to go (3-9). They also frequently close off this one lane for swimming lessons or other services. The weight room is also very crowed during this time and it's difficult to find free equipment. It also cost way too much for what you're getting, you might as well join the Harrisburg branch where they don't have a pool anyways so it's much cheaper. The staff are very friendly.

No access to wallet locker.5 times in a row now, after 5pm, I waste 20 mins, to hunt down someone to give me a coin for the wallet locker.Less time for me to work out.The last time, the person, “didn’t know how to do it”.But, I DO!Because I have watched them do it sooooo MANY times, I could have shown her.I was given a lock to go into the woman’s locker room, lock my things, do only half of my workout, by now, go back to the woman’s locker room, get the lock & my things and return the lock.I shouldn’t have to keep an eye on my keys & things while working out.

I’m able to get a good anaerobic workout there. I prefer free weights and machines mostly which are more limited than the cardio equipment. They have a few racks and one zone made for heavy lifting. I’ve had one complaint about being too loud with weights. It’s no gold’s gym. But I can take my kids there. There are a lot of good people to make friends with. The basketball court is fun to play in. I go early in the morning with kids usually. Some things like the atheletics department for kids are a little disorganized, relying more on volunteers than staff. The people I talk to are always helpful though. It might not be as clean or as organized as other places that are in a different budget range. I go there all the time, finding what I need to stay fit and healthy, and my kids enjoy the experience as well. That’s why I recommend it to anyone!

Been going to this gym for about a year and never had an issue but today one of the employees was extremely rude. Employee didn’t even let me start my workout before she came up to me and was complaining because I didn’t have any spray. I hadn’t even started using the machine yet. Then started complaining about my shoes even though they were appropriate for the gym. Almost wouldn’t let me workout. At this point, I didn’t even want to stay at the gym.

Got a membership here mainly to swim but the pools are always closed or they have classes/lessons (that have to be paid for separately) going on. There's hardly ever any open swim so I can never bring my kids after school because of this so it's definitely not worth the money. I'm highly disappointed with this location did not give a friendly happy experience i tried to enjoy my membership but i immediately had to cancel. ALSO the sanitary is so disgusting CONCORD LOCATION NEEDS TO DO BETTER !

Nice gym. Love the aquatic center. Unfortunately they have a VERY hard time keeping it open and keeping the spa, steam room, and sauna working properly.

I love the YMCA! I have had a membership there for two years that include my 24-year-old daughter and fourteen-year-old son. The Zumba classes are amazing. We also enjoy the pool, steam room, sauna, and gym. Clean facilities and a wonderful staff that get to know you by name.

Signed up to use services that I ended up never using. Called to cancel services and was told by a lady at the front desk that the ONLY way to cancel my membership was to come into the facility. Being as though this place is 30 minutes from me and out of the way, I told her I don’t have time to do this. Why can’t she just cancel it with me on the phone. Seems like they only do transactions from 1942 because coming in is the only way and rbis was their policy (yeah Ok…). Now once I’m charged, I’m sent an email with several ways to cancel that don’t involve coming into the facility. The response: We are sorry we gave you (the customer) wrong information but you still owe us for never using our facility and never even coming in…what a flipping joke!

I visited this location yesterday to inquire about summer camp for my daughter. I walked in, went to the reception desk, and asked the woman working if I could register my child for summer camp. The woman bluntly replied “No”, began laughing, and even looked around to see if any of her coworkers heard to hilarious joke I had apparently just told. The woman then realized I was awaiting some sort of explanation and said “our camps filled up in March”. I then turned around and walked out, baffled by my experience.A professional and helpful response could have been “I’m sorry, our camps fill up early. Registering before March will give you the best chances next year”.I frequented this YMCA when I was young and was excited for my daughter to potentially share the same great experiences; unfortunately, this is NOT the same YMCA I once loved. Extremely disappointed in the treatment of guests.

Great options for kids and families. I guess that's what the YMCA is for, lol. Not so great if you're an adult and or need the pool. Weekly schedules are posted and it is 50% not accurate. Changes are made last minute so you pretty much need to call everytime you want to go. Parking is difficult and full. Pool locker rooms and family pool are outdated, nearly always smell like Nair hair removal products and it's past time for pool and hot tub to be refinished. Many fixtures are rusted. Both pools are often closed for meets that take place in just one pool. In four months, I arrived 9 times and had last minute no notification closures. Also, the pool schedule is hectic and haphazard... with all of the scheduled activities, closures and breaks, there's really only 2 hours per day (most days, not even all days) you can get access. IF that works for your schedule. This isn't sufficient for regular practice or water therapy workouts or weight loss.I'm glad the kids have the ymca. It's needed. But it's time for some upgrades. For us adults, thankfully a new gym with pool just opened nearby with a fully open swim schedule and accommodating hours. All day 6a to 10p.

**Update Part 3** I was unable to get my son in the class. They offered a weekday class which is impossible for me to bring him to. Very Disappointed in incompetent management and will not return to this location.**Update Part 2** Someone other than the Director contacted me to assist. Put me on a wait list which would not have been necessary if Evan, the Director responded and assisted me in a timely manner since I contacted them the day registration opened. Due to summer demand, I am sure a spot will not become available. If they want to make this right, they should have put my son in a class.** Update** 10 days later, STILL no assistance from ANYONE at West Cabarrus YMCA!I attempted to register for West Cabarrus summer swimming program, the day that registration opened on May7th. I was unable to register because my child would not reach the eligible age until 4 days after the initial class. I contacted Kristin of West Cabarrus YMCA with my issue and which was then forwarded to the Director Evan J. via email on 5/9. The Director then contacted me at 6:18pm on Monday 5/10, obviously his last email of the day. I replied to his initial email that same evening. I did not hear back from the Director until Saturday, 5/14!! Asking which YMCA I am a member of although my son is currently enrolled and participating in spring swim classes!!! It is Tuesday 5/17 and I haven’t heard anything further from the Director or anyone else who can assist me with getting my son registered for swim class. I’m sure by now the classes are all full. I have never experienced utter lack of basic customer service.

As I'm trying to find a gym with a variety of activities such as independent and class workouts I was considering joining. The reviews here have changed my mind. Customer service goes a long way
