Most gyms are non-communal. At Norse Fitness I genuinely feel like I am a part of a community of likeminded people. From the culture to the equipment, there are so many gains to be had.

I've been a member @ Norse for years now. The gym is always clean, and well kept. My schedule has never permitted me to go during 'normal' hours, to get the full experience that a lot of members always speak of. I've had some of the best workouts ever at this place, @ 2-3am, with nothing but loud music, and myself. Price point is fair, and Andy is all around just a great man.

You will not find a better or more caring gym in or around the Charlotte area. Trust me, I've been to pretty much every one.The people at Norse are some of the most knowledgeable people in the industry. Great gym, great people, killer vibe. If they had beds then I'd sleep there.Literally the best place. Check them out! Norse member for life.

Love this gym! Well-equipped, clean, and expanding to meet customers' needs. Staff and patrons are incredibly knowledgeable and take their practice seriously, but are still super approachable. Andy and Clint have worked really hard to create a great climate at Norse. They're both genuine dudes who clearly care about the success of their clients, not just the success of their gym. Group classes are great--I'm stronger than I've ever been and pumped to keep going!!

So maybe you're like me and typically enjoy sedentary activities (the occasional video game, table top gaming, movies, etc.); and you also have a job where you are planted onto a chair for eight hours or possibly more on a weekly basis. You feel awful and tired all of the time. You look into trying things to get yourself back active and to make healthier choices when every obstacle is in your way preventing you....convenient snack machines at work, what feels like no time to cook. Maybe you suffer from depression. The desire is there, but the energy isn't... Well, then you're like me in a few ways. Stick with me a moment, because I'm going to give you a long and honest review.
I've tried to train at home, but I've always had trouble with consistency especially when left to my own devices. Some people can discipline themselves enough to workout at home and it works for them. But that doesn't always work for everyone. So, I decided to give this gym a try.
I went to their website and scheduled a 30 minute visit just to talk. That's all. You head over and have an honest sit down about what your goals are (if you have any because maybe you don't just yet, and you're still figuring that out) and what the gym has to offer. Firstly, there are no contracts. I have had previous experiences with contracts, and I was relieved to discover that there are none here.
So, I took this first step and went over. I tell you, I'm so happy I did. Sure, it's a smaller facility, but the equipment is good quality and very well maintained. Sure, you walk in and the place is full of Norse imagery and Heavy Metal (which may not be your thing, but I think it's pretty awesome..nothing like having Fenrir breaking his chain as a logo). And yes, many of the members are competitive power lifters. That may seem scary to some folks, but here's the thing. At no point have I ever felt self-conscious in there. At no point have I ever like I was being judged. The staff and members here are friendly and helpful. My first time in there, I wasn't sure how to do something and members took time to show me how to do something. This happened again when I was having a little trouble getting dead lifts down. My trainer, Clint, is there for me and supportive. Other members have been supportive and have cheered me on to get that one last rep. If you are afraid of gyms because of "Gym Fail" pictures...trust me, if anyone pulled that kind of stunt in there, they'd be ejected.
So what is the appeal? Members and trainers who care about health, safety and self-improvement through strength training, a place where you can be held accountable and encouraged to get back up, a space where you are pushed past your limits but also encouraged to pace yourself (as many have said, it doesn't matter how much weight you are lifting, form, safety and pace are more important).
I apologize for the rambling, but I wanted to give my take on this gym and encourage you, whomever you may be, to come check the place out. You may be very glad you did.

This is the only gym/community that has ever pushed me to become a better version of myself. The members and staff are willing to help everyone with anything from form to programming and even diet advice. If you feel like you aren’t giving your fitness goal 100% effort, I reccomend giving Norse a shot.

Norse Fitness is ready to help you get to where you want to be. No matter your personal fitness starting point, short, or long term goals; this is a safe, supportive, and instructive atmosphere. I’m very impressed by how willing so many members at the gym pause their own training to share observations, demonstrate the fundamentals, and the better/safer path to help you achieve your goals. The past 5 months with Norse Fitness and everyday I continue to show up and put in the time and the effort, the foundation for the BEST possible me gets stronger everyday.

I love this gym! They have been so welcoming and have been so good about working with me through my journey. This is by far the best gym that I have been part of. They've really created a community within the gym and I love it!

A fantastic gym for REAL training! I own a similar type of gym (smaller hardcore focused on quality members not quantity of members) and I can only give this place five stars! Now if you don’t like heavy metal blasting and you don’t like driven people pushing the boundaries then this place is not for you. Think of planet fitness on bizarro world and you’re in visioning the compound! Iron sharpens iron but unlike some other hardcore facilities you’re not judged on your strength but rather on your drive to progress!

Norse Fitness sells quality clothing and equipment. I have purchased clothing for myself and my husband, even buying wrist wraps and knee sleeves for my husband and a couple of our friends who are lifters. Absolutely love their designs and their customer service is excellent. Will continue to do business and purchase from this company in the future.
