I am extremely grateful to have my pets go here. They are very compassionate and considerate of my dogs needs. I am thankful I didn't pay attention to the negative reviews and took a chance going here. They are very knowledgeable and I appreciate everything you have done to make my little ones comfortable as well as being considerate of my financial struggle to advise me of my best options for treatment! We have finally found our home here!

We have been very happy Highlands Pet Hospital patients for about 8 years now. Dr. Betsie Condon and her staff are fantastic. Very conscientious about anxious pets, fair and transparent pricing, and consistently excellent care.

Yesterday was my first experience with Dr Rice as Dr Condon was out of the office. Dr Rice and vet tech Debbie were exceptional. I was nervous that Dr Condon was not in as I love Dr Condon and she is the only vet my dog Buster knows. Thank you Dr Rice and vet tech Debbie for patiently listening to me about Buster’s health concerns, asking questions (in between my tears) to gain a better understanding and being empathetic and compassionate as Buster is my world. Your ability to discuss tests results and next steps were timely and again communicated with empathy and compassion. Thank you!!!!!

Terrible communication! “David” (tech) appears to lack listening skills and reported to one of the providers about me asking if there is a licensed Veterinarian at this pet hospital, as I did not know of this is the case and it requires a licensed vet to get the medication for my dogs ears. I don’t speak animal hospital and do not know credentialing requirements at animal care centers, so the question was NOT rude and not meant to be rude in any manner! We paid this practice $360 and provided our pets health records from the hometown vet we have seen for 12years where we moved from. I simply asked for the ear medicine that has WORKED for my dogs ears for several years now to maintain when he has an allergy flare up. I literally just moved to the area and am attempting to establish a long term provider for my two dogs. $360 later and no luck with the 2 other medication that this dr prescribed. My dog contracted an ear infection, which is normal for him. He is a golden retriever and I was told that it’s not uncommon for Goldens to experience ear infections. My husband took an empty bottle of the medicine that our pet has been prescribed over the last few years to treat his ears and asked for it to be provided. The medication is only available to be filled by a LICENSED VETERINARIAN which is why I asked if they have this on staff SO THAT I CAN GET MY DOGS NEEDS MET!… it’s NOT about you David and it’s not about the vet that you reported I was rude to! It’s about my animal and his needs! I have cared for this dog for FIVE YEARS and know what works for this very common experience with his ears. The medicine is “mometamax”. When my husband took our dog to the appointment he was prescribed 2 antibiotics and not the mometamax, even tho we had Proof that this is normal and that this is the med he needs to treat the problem. It is totally fine for me that the doctor wanted to prescribe something different/what they seen fit. HOWEVER the vet secretary called me on the 13th to ask how our pet was progressing in the healing. I returned their call the following week on the 18th to alert them that the ear had improved a little but that he still needed mometamax since the ear still needed the medicine that he’s been prescribed for several years in the past and that it has been 2 weeks and the ear had improved but was not better. I was told by David that they would let the dr know and that David would return my call “tomorrow” Thursday the 19th. I got NO return call so I called back AGAIN this week and finally just now David called and shared that I could bring my dog back in to been seen for a follow up but there is a charge. I simply let David know we will not return and that we don’t appreciate him delaying calling us back about our dog. David said “the dr was on vacation last week”. OKAY DAVID- what about THIS week buddy? Amd from what I understand this vet has multiple providers on staff, so what’s the barrier?1. What’s eve barrier in getting a medication that my dog needs?2. David must be experiencing some bad days bc man what a rude human.3. You ain’t getting ANYMORE OF MY MONEY AND NOT TREATING MY PET!4. You’re the ones missing out on years of paying customers! We will get treatment from professionals that LISTEN TO THEIR CLIENTS NEEDS and aren’t what seems to be money hungry.5. You are not helpful!

Great vets and staff! Have been taking my two Westies to them for over eight years and wouldn’t trust anyone else! Saved my Westies life several times.

I adopted a cat with a limb deformity, and we were looking for a good vet to go to that we could trust. They really care here, you can tell.I’ve been to vets that do not care in the past, and typically it’s evident right off of the bat. Everyone is very warm and welcoming, and they’ve been so informative and respectful through his initial exams to his leg amputation. They called the morning after surgery to check on him and are an amazing resource for any questions you may have. I cannot rate highlands high enough, Dr. Rice is the most genuine person that truly cares about the well-being of your pet, or in my case fin. :) This will be our vet for as long as we live here. Thank you guys so much for everything !

I'm disappointed to be ending my relationship with Highlands Pet Hospital with a bad review, but they really were the worst at the end and this feels needed. And after paying $50!! for my vet records they basically held hostage and refused to e mail my new vet after I called MANY times, sent e mails literally begging for them and spoke with the front desk.Everyone has always been very kind and I think that made me not notice red flags earlier. Not getting pet report cards in a timely manner, getting sent the wrong ones for the wrong dog. Even when I had to bring in the same pee three times, I just chalked it up to everyone makes mistakes sometimes.Recently it was lab results for a dog that took so long to get I was calling to check them and the front desk told me for 3 days a vet still had not reviewed them so I couldn't get results yet. So results were in for what turned out to be cancer they were just too busy. And when I called ahead for pain meds for another dog and after FIVE days of waiting and no response to an e mail, turns out they were ready the same day I called. Just no one bothered to let me know. That was my last straw and I told the front desk to let Dr Condon know I will be leaving. I found a new vet that same day.I would have just loved a clean break and to start at the new vet but HPH first needed vet approval to send records. Then they sent a few records. Then some more and no lab work. They they e mailed a blank page? All during this I'm calling and e mailing them letting them know they're keeping my dogs from getting the best care possible. They scared me telling me one of my dogs might have kidney disease but they won't let the new vet see her lab work? It was so odd.So after a week I had to physically go in today and ask for printed records for my 4 dogs and cat. I understand it was a lot of paper, I understand charging someone $50 for the material. I do not understand why it was $50 when I asked every day for a whole week for my records to just be e mailed? My new vet has been appalled and every staff member has told me they've never seen anything like this or had such a hard time getting health records.I wish HPH well in the future but I would not recommend them and after the either incompetence or pettiness to have access to my own animals health records, I'd be comfortable saying they certainly didn't help my pets health in a positive way.

PLEASE READ REVIEW DELETED: Noticed my review was taken down so needed to repost so that no one else experiences.DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT CONTINUE TO BE A CLIENT AT THIS VET OFFICE OR IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO BE STAY AWAY! I brought my dog there two times and had a great experience with Dr. Condon. I made a routine appointment to check back in with Dr. Condon and was scheduled with Dr. Rice. I was not able to go to the appointment so I sent my husband. Big mistake. She and her vet assistant spoke to my husband as though he was an idiot. As he was leaving they scheduled a follow up and my husband begged me to never have to go back again so I went to the follow-up. This would be the third appointment we made for the same issue my dog was experiencing. I decided let me go one more time to see if I’m missing something. I went, explained the issue again and reminded both the vet tech and Dr. Rice that this was the third time I was at the office for the same issue of which my dog has experienced no relief and I’ve experienced over $1,000 in vet bills. Not only that the vet tech said to Dr. Rice "She really loves her dog and would do or pay anything to see her better." It sent chills down my spine.Towards the end of the appointment I asked Dr. Rice about the way my dog was sitting and all of the sudden with no x ray it was determined my dog needed a $5,000 surgery. I explained that I would like to get x rays and do not feel comfortable moving forward unless I had more definitive evidence and understood all of my options. This was merely a question and not even the purpose of the appointment. I asked if I could have some time to think about it and get other opinions and they smiled in my face, said sure and set me on my way with an $800 vet bill. Not to mention if you use a card it is an additional 3% charge! The next morning my phone was blown up by a veterinary operation hospital trying to schedule the surgery that I politely asked to have more time to research and look into.My dog was treated terribly , my spouse and I treated terribly and ultimately disrespected and not listened to. Only come to this vet if you have thousands of dollars and want your dog to continue to be sick. I switched vets and after the first appointment my dog found relief and surgery was not suggested for the “problem” dr. Rice so adamantly pushed.

I used to go to another vet, but after evaluating the service given for my late dog, I decided to change. It was a good decision. Dr. Rice knows when to be traditional and when to try new things, and her knowledge and care are great.

RUN away from this place! If you truly care about your pet you will not seek treatment here. They have zero care for their patients. Only care about the amount of money they can scam their customers out of. I should have listened to the other negative reviews before wasting my energy with this shabby establishment.
