Moving is stressful in general, but moving in to an apartment without a working fridge, dishwasher, and oven was a disaster. Luckily, we were moving with friends who had a smaller apartment with a working fridge to store our food until ours was fixed, but we're still without a dishwasher after living in the apartment for 3 days with the time estimate for it getting fixed/replaced is "with much haste".
Why the 2 star review? The apartment is beautiful, spacious, perfect placement, and we genuinely love living here. I just wish it had been move in ready instead of having to unpack with the stress of maintenance coming in/out and needing to lock our pets in our bedrooms.

Paul was so great to work with! I was previewing apartments for my son who will be relocating to NC from NY and I really appreciated Paul’s customer service and transparency on rent and fees. Truly an excellent experience!!!

Could not tour apartments due to WRONG KEY, somebody already lived in the apartment!!! real dangerous!!! also was not greeted by the employees when walked in, wasted my time, also they supposedly offer valet trash, all the trash cans were outside with trash in it early in the day! BEWARE WITH THE SELF GUIDED TOUR MIGHT RECEIVE WRONG KEY

Grab your blanket and pillow because it's story time. I moved to Century Afton July of 2021 and had always paid my rent on time and respected all neighbors and fellow residents.
After living there for almost 3 years my wife and I decided to move closer to work and upgrade to a house. When we decided this it was in December of 2023 and my lease didn't end until March of 2024. I decided to talk to the leasing office and ask if it would be possible to move out early and they let me know that if they were able to rent it to someone else I would only need to pay rent until the new residents move in. They also told me I wouldn't be charged any "break lease fee".
February comes along and my wife and I find a house we love and before we close on the move-in date I wanted to confirm that everything the leasing office told me. I was informed that they found someone who can move into our old apartment on February 14th which was great news for us and we scheduled to move out of Century Afton on February 1st. I also spoke with Nancy in management to confirm I would only be charged till February 14th. She told me "once the new residents move in they will update my billing with the prorated rent and send me an email letting me know how to pay". She also told me that my resident portal might look off but that I shouldn't worry she would make sure I'm charged the right amount.
My wife and I move into our new house and wait to get an email from Nancy letting us know what we owe. February 14th comes along and we still haven't heard anything so we check our resident portal which states we owe nothing. After another 2 weeks we check the portal again but now our account has closed. At this point my wife and I assume our security deposit may have covered the 14 days of rent and we think nothing else of it.
A month goes by and I start to get calls from debt collectors for $1,400 which is not at all what Nancy told me the charges would be. For almost 2 weeks I tried calling their office and never got a call back. Finally someone answers and they inform me they went under new management and will look into my issue and try to get it fixed and that they will call me back. After another week I still haven't heard anything so I try calling back and again no answers or return phone calls even after leaving many urgent messages.
At this point I decide to drive up and get this fixed since they put me in collections (even though I never missed a payment in 3 years). When I get there I see Nancy, but quickly she goes into her office and the other manager comes to talk to me. He informs me that this isn't an issue they can fix and I need to talk to the old management company. I informed him that Nancy was the original manager I talked to and would like to speak with her since she made me a promise she would help take care of me. after we talk for a few minutes he lets me know that Nancy is busy and can't talk. Which is funny because I can see her from the outside window just hanging out on her computer.
I end of leaving without getting my issue resolved and I contact someone with the old management company (Lauren) who is awesome and she told me she would get this fixed but she had to talk to Nancy. It made me so mad when she said this because Nancy refused to talk to me and fix the problem she promised wouldn't happen. After another 2 months of trying to fix this they finally fixed my account to what I was supposed to originally pay (14 days of rent).
I moved out February 1st and everything was finally finished and corrected on July 15th which is absolutely ridiculous. My biggest issues is the fact that they put my wife and I into collections only a month after we moved out without ever sending me an invoice or email like Nancy promised. Also, because of their "mess up" me and my wife's credit dropped 80 points which is infuriating. Nancy wa

This place is very quiet and cozy, the office staff is excellent, especially Kim, from whom we have received excellent treatment, everything around us is very close. The common areas are very well maintained except for some poorly behaved people who have dogs and walk them to do their business and leave the mess in the Grass with the bags to collect them placed by the administration.
That has nothing to do with the complex or the staff. Just some people who are uneducated.

I applied exactly a month ago and the Application process as been an absolute nightmare and at the end nothing came out of it. sending documents multiple times for them to say they need it again when i've already done it Multiple times. being told i needing to apply again. a whole month of me consistently messaging and calling with little to no reply or answer. leasing agent is never in to answer or update. I sent over 17 emails within a month. if you want to live here apply two months in advance and be ready to call and call just to be looped back to the main menu.
